¡Saludos a todos mis queridos Hivers! Estamos en la época más linda, colorida y sabrosa del año: ¡Navidad! Así que no podía dejar pasar esta temporada así que hoy me dejé de farsas y me saqué el acartonamiento de encima y vine a hablarles de la mejor película de navidad por excelencia. Mi favorita y se que la favorita de muchos de ustedes, Mi pobre angelito, como la conocimos en latinoamérica o Home Alone.

Greetings to all my dear Hivers! We are in the most beautiful, colorful and tasty time of the year: Christmas! So I couldn't let this season pass me by so today I stopped my charades and got my stiffy out of the way and came to tell you about the best Christmas movie par excellence. My favorite and I know the favorite of many of you, Mi pobre angelito, as we know it in Latin America or Home Alone.

La historia de Kevin es mundialmente famosa, así que poco podría decirles acerca de la sinopsis de esta película que no sea conocida. Sin embargo, puede pasar que seas de esas personas que no conoces acerca de como Kevin, un niño de 8 años, se quedó solo accidantalmente en su casa mientras sus padres viajaban en plena época navideña (cuando hay caos en todos los aeropuertos). Durante esos días descubre que hay una serie de robos en su vecindario y Kevin decide poner toda su casa a prueba de los ladrones.

Kevin's story is world famous, so there is little I could tell you about the synopsis of this movie that is not already known. However, it may happen that you are one of those people who don't know about how Kevin, an 8 year old boy, was accidentally left alone at home while his parents were traveling in the middle of the Christmas season (when there is chaos in all the airports). During those days he discovers that there are a series of burglaries in his neighborhood and Kevin decides to burglar-proof his entire house.

Las actuaciones de esta película son memorables, con unas escenas que nos llenaron de carcajadas, sobretodo por cada truco que usó Kevin para espantar a los ladrones; los grandes Joe Pesci (The Irishman, Goodfellas) y Daniel Stern (The wonder years), hacen de los horribles ladrones. La madre de Kevin es interpretada por otra gran y recordada actriz Catherine O'Hara (Beetlejuice, Schitt's Creek) y por supuesto, la estrella infantil que prometía: Macaulay Culkin, una de las caras más recordadas, sobre todo por esa cara legendaria de asombro y que luego cayó én desgracia. Por fortuna, podemos verlo nuevamente en la última temporada de American Horror Story.

The performances in this movie are memorable, with scenes that made us laugh, especially for every trick Kevin used to scare off the thieves; the great Joe Pesci (The Irishman, Goodfellas) and Daniel Stern (The Wonder Years), play the horrible thieves. Kevin's mother is played by another great and remembered actress Catherine O'Hara (Beetlejuice, Schitt's Creek) and of course, the child star that promised: Macaulay Culkin, one of the most remembered faces, especially for that legendary face of amazement and then fell in disgrace. Fortunately, we can see him again in the last season of American Horror Story.

La película del director Chris Columbus (Harry Potter, The Help) y escrita por John Hughes (The breakfast club, 16 candles), una dpla que logró hacer de esta uno de los mejores blockbusters navideños de todos los tiempos con la música del gran John Williams, que además de una de las melodias navideñas dentro de los tops, tuvo dos nominaciones al Oscar por el tema original y por la banda sonora de la película de la que hay que decir que son hermosísimas y que he tenido que poner para escribir esta publicación y entrar en el mood navideño de "Home Alone".

The film directed by Chris Columbus (Harry Potter, The Help) and written by John Hughes (The breakfast club, 16 candles), a dpla that managed to make this one of the best Christmas blockbusters of all time with the music of the great John Williams, which in addition to one of the Christmas melodies within the tops, had two Oscar nominations for the original theme and for the soundtrack of the film which must be said that are beautiful and that I had to put to write this post and get into the Christmas mood of "Home Alone".

¿Ya dije que amo esta película? Y no es que se trata solo de un niño encerrado en su casa en navidad, o solo de arbolitos, luces y Santa Claus, es una historia que va más allá de eso; amor familiar, nos recuerda que sin importar en donde ni como nos encontremos, la familia es lo más importa. Y tenemos que recordar que nunca, por peor que nos sintamos, estamos solos. Siempre hay alguien velando por tí, un vecino, un amigo o un familiar que te haga una llamada.

Did I say I love this movie? And it's not just about a boy locked in his house on Christmas, or just about trees, lights and Santa Claus, it's a story that goes beyond that; family love, it reminds us that no matter where or how we are, family is the most important thing. And we have to remember that no matter how bad we feel, we are never alone. There is always someone looking out for you, a neighbor, a friend or a family member who will give you a call.

Aprovecho esta oportunidad para desearles a todos los que están fuera, los que se sienten tan solos como Kevin en estas navidades, que miren a su alrededor, que nos alejemos de los pensamientos tristes, que disfrutemos el presente, recordemos el pasado con amor, y veamos hacia el futuro con esperanzas, que nos pongamos la meta de que los próximos años vayan mejorando y demos gracias por estar vivos este 2021, después de dos años de pandemia, que han sido de las experencias más fuertes que el mundo ha vivido.

I take this opportunity to wish all those who are outside, those who feel as lonely as Kevin this Christmas, to look around, to get away from sad thoughts, to enjoy the present, to remember the past with love, and to look to the future with hope, to set the goal that the coming years will improve and to give thanks for being alive this 2021, after two years of pandemic, which have been some of the strongest experiences the world has ever lived through.

Y si no hay cena, hallacas, arbolito o regalos, siempre habrá una pantalla para disfrutar de las navidades viendo una buena película como las que les traigo hoy para avivar las esperanzas de que las familias que están separadas se encuentren pronto, creo que es la mejor opción de todas.

And if there is no dinner, hallacas, arbolito or gifts, there will always be a screen to enjoy Christmas watching a good movie like the ones I bring you today to enliven the hopes that families that are separated will be found soon, I think it is the best option of all.
