Hello friends of Hive Open Mic! Week #179, "Urban Music/Música Urbana". I bring you a song of the Venezuelan group Los amigos Invisibles "la que me gusta".
I confess that, for me, it was very difficult to choose the theme, because, in my mind was created the controversy of whether I should do some music that was not according to my thoughts, or my own style, or because I simply do not have skills to do, such as reggaeton, which has explicit words that denigrate, in most cases to women; although I respect all those who make this music and like it.
But no, after sitting down and reviewing a bit of history, I realized that the urban music proposal is much broader than what I was thinking. So I stick to the concept that says that urban music is that which is born in the streets of big cities and from hip hop and other Latin rhythms, but it is also heir to all the rhythms that were being listened to in the world.
Although the music made by the band Los Amigos Invisibles is considered more Pop, we can consider it as a popular Urban muisca, since they make a mix of music with elements of disco, acid jazz and funk with other diverse Hispanic rhythms.
The song I chose, "La que me gusta", has a nice story. It was composed by the band's guitarist José Luis Pardo, and he dedicated it to his wife, because the lyrics of this song refer to the night they met.
I think it is a beautiful reflection, of how a boy, shy perhaps, manages to face his fear to approach the girl he likes and not only that, also understand that, probably, he was facing many other boys, more favored than him, however, as the song says: "That the girls like more, The most smiling and not the most handsome".
It's a song I really enjoy remembering, and making for all of you. I hope you enjoy it too.

¡Hola amigos y amigas de Hive Open Mic! Semana #179, “Urban Music/Música Urbana”. Les traigo un tema de la agrupación venezolana Los amigos Invisibles “la que me gusta”.
Les confieso que, para mí, fue muy difícil escoger el tema, porque, en mi mente se creó la polémica de si debía hacer algo de música que no fuera acorde con mis pensamientos, o mi propio estilo, o porque sencillamente, no tengo destrezas para hacer, como por ejemplo el reggaetón, la cual, tiene palabras explicitas que denigran, en la mayoría de los casos a la mujer; aunque respeto, a todos aquellos que hacen esta música y les gusta.
Pero no, luego de sentarme y revisar un poco la historia, me di cuenta que, la propuesta de música urbana es mucho más amplia de lo que yo estaba pensando. Entonces me apego al concepto que dice que la música urbana es aquella que nace en la calle de las grandes ciudades y a partir del hip hop y otros ritmos latinos, pero que además es heredera de todos los ritmos que se venían escuchando en el mundo.
Si bien, la música que hace el grupo musical Los amigos invisibles es considerada más bien como Pop, podemos considerarla como muisca popular Urbana, ya que, ellos hacen una mezcla de música con elementos del disco, el acid jazz y el funk con otros diversos ritmos hispanos.
La canción que escogí, “La que me gusta”, tiene una linda historia. Fue compuesta por el Guitarrista de la banda José Luis Pardo, y se la dedicó a su esposa, porque la letra de esta canción hace referencia a la noche en que ellos se conocieron.
Creo que es una bella reflexión, de como un muchacho, tímido tal vez, logra enfrentar su miedo para acercarse a la chica que le gusta y no solo eso, también entender que, probablemente, se estaba enfrentando a muchos otros chichos, más favorecidos que él, sin embargo, como dice la canción: “Que a las niñas les gusta más, El más risueño y no el más guapetón”.
Es una canción que disfrute mucho recordando, y haciendo para todos ustedes. Espero que ustedes también la disfruten.
