    Me voy pal Yopo

Décimas del folklor venezolano de Ángel Parra.

La cincha dice en el mar
    Yo mantengo una riqueza
    Una prenda de belleza
    Con su brillo natural.
Yo valgo más que el coral
Que el diamante, que el Rubí
Yo no me cambio por ti,
    Pues yo valgo dondequiera
    En regiones extranjeras
    También me aprecian a mí.

Dicen que hubo o no hubo nada
Me voy pa´l yopo de madruga,
De madrugada me voy pal yopo
Porque el guayabo me vuelve loco.
Usted, usted, usted la mado a poner,
Que si la pone la paga
Y si no la pone también.
Que si la pone la paga
    Y sino la pone también.

La pata `e cabra se queja
    Y tambien el caracol,
    Eso lo dice la almeja.
Tambien la papa la reina cuenta
    Su historia pasada,
    Que vida más desgraciada
    Echarnos Dios en el mundo
    En estos mares profundos
    Donde no valemos nada.

Dicen que hubo o no hubo nada,
    Me voy pal yopo
Porque el guayabo me vuelve loco.
Usted, usted, uste la mando a poner,
Que si l pone lo paga y si no la pone también.

    Mis tres hermanos queridos
    Se los llebo la corriente,
    Dice un niño tristemente,
    ¡Que caso tan dolorido¡
    Marchamos todos unidos
    A bañarnos sin temor,
Vino el río con su furor,
    Se los llevó muy ligero,
    Cunado desaparecieron,
    Cuanto seria mi dolor.

Dicen que hubo o no hubo nada,
Me voy pa‘l yopo de madrugá´,
De madrugada me voy pa‘l yopo
Porque el guayabo me vuelve loco.
Usted, usted, usted la mando a poner,
que si la pone la paga y si no la pone también.
Que si la pone la paga
Y si no la pone también.

    I'm going to Topo

Tenths of Venezuelan folklore by Ángel Parra.

The cinch says in the sea
    I keep a wealth
    A garment of beauty
    With its natural shine.
I am worth more than coral
Than the diamond, than the ruby
    I don't change for you
    Well, I am worth anywhere
    In foreign regions
    They also appreciate me.

They say there was or there was nothing
I go to yopo at dawn,
At dawn I go to yopo
Because the guava tree drives me crazy.
You, you, you made her put,
    What if the pay
And if it doesn't put it too.
    What if the pay
And if not it also puts it.

    The goat leg complains
    And also the snail,
    That says the clam.
Also the potato the queen tells
    Your past history,
    What a miserable life
    Throw God into the world
    In these deep seas
    Where we are worth nothing.

They say there was or there was nothing,
    I'm going to yopo
Because the guava tree drives me crazy.
You, you, you send it to put,
That if he puts it he pays and if he doesn't put it too.

    My three beloved brothers
    The current carried them away,
    Says a child sadly,
    What a painful case!
    We all march together
    To bathe without fear,
The river came with its fury,
    He took them very lightly,
    When they disappeared,
How much would my pain be?

They say there was or there was nothing,
I'm going to yopo early in the morning,
At dawn I go to yopo
Because the guava tree drives me crazy.
You, you, you send it to put,
that if he puts it, he pays and if he does not put it also.
    What if the pay
And if it doesn't put it too.
