Happy hivers day!. Today is February 2nd, and it's the birthday of my favorite artist and platonic love of all times "Shakira"; so I will take the opportunity to pay her this tribute through my participation in the Hive Open Mic, week number 95, with the theme of New Times, proposed by our friend @adrianalara, to whom I send a special greeting and my gratitude for choosing this magnificent weekly motif.
I am doubly happy because for this entry I am accompanied by two of our favorite musicians of the platform. They are Omar and Dina, Dina and Omar, the guys from @musicandreview, a Venezuelan couple currently living in Peru and they accepted my invitation to perform this song, which although it is out of the style of both parties we are satisfied with our version.
La Tortura is a song that was born from the inspiration between Shakira Mebarak and Luis Fernando Ochoa. It became the first promotional single from the album Fijación Oral Vol. 1, released on my 17th birthday in 2005. The original version is sung with the Spanish Alejandro Sanz and was a massive hit worldwide, and I am pleased to say that in the wave of Global Harmony that unites us in the Open Mic, Shakira broke the language barrier by positioning in the top places around the world a song purely in Spanish, as it has no English version as Ricky Martin's La Vida Loca or La Macarena. I also want to point out that the rhythmic base of this song is reggaeton, and we already know that nowadays Spanish music sounds everywhere in the world. I am sure that this advance for Global Harmony is due in great part to the existence of La Tortura.
The final editing of this video was done by myself with the video editor ShotCut. The images were edited with PhotoDirector App. Many thanks to all of you who visit, comment and support our musical projects on Hive. On behalf of the three of us thank you very much, you know we always return the same affection. A greeting to my colleagues @cabelindsay and @mipiano who encouraged in me this feeling of brotherhood through the Hive Open Mic. I love you all very much!...
The Torture
I do not ask that every day be sunny.
I don't ask that every Friday be a holiday.
And neither do I ask you to come back begging for forgiveness
if you cry with dry eyes and talking about her.
Oh, love, it hurts me so much,
it hurts me so much,
that you left without saying where.
Oh, love, it was torture to lose you.
I know I haven't been a saint
but I can fix it, love.
Man does not live by bread alone
and I don't live by excuses.
Only from mistakes you learn
and today I know that my heart is yours.
You'd better keep all that to yourself,
another dog with that bone, and we'll say goodbye.
I can't ask winter to forgive a rosebush.
I can't ask elms to deliver pears.
I cannot ask the eternal from a mere mortal.
And go about throwing a thousand pearls to the pigs.
Oh, love, it hurts me so much,
it hurts me so much
That you no longer believe in my promises.
Oh, love, it's torture to lose you.
I know I haven't been a saint
but I can fix it, love.
Man does not live by bread alone
and I don't live by excuses.
Only from mistakes you learn
And today I know that my heart is yours.
You'd better keep all that to yourself
To another dog with that bone, and we say goodbye.
Don't get off, don't get off,
Hey, black girl, look, don't give up.
From Monday to Friday you have my love,
leave Saturday to me, it's better.
Hey, my black girl, don't punish me anymore
because out there without you, I have no peace.
I'm just a repentant man,
I'm like the bird that returns to its nest.
