HIVE OPEN MIC #168 (ENG/ESP): Music for Children - "The Naughty Cat Song!" by @jasperdick (original)

Hello everybody on Hive and especially the Hive Open Mic Community! My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town in South Africa!

Welcome to Week 168 of the Hive Open Mic Challenge. The English translation for the theme for the week is “Music for Children"!

Well, I actually am a father. My daughter turns two years old at the end of next month. I have written several original songs especially to try and entertain her, that have since become light-hearted songs that I use to break up the tension between the more serious songs when I gig, either solo, or in my duo “MobeyDick” with my friend @clairemobey.

One of these light-hearted songs is called “The Naughty Cat Song”. It is based on the two pet cats that we have that my daughter loves to terrorize! “Mr Pickles” is our boy-cat who gets a bit vocal for treats or when we’re on the phone. He also hates the vet. Bunny is our very fluffy girl-cat that cries during car-rides, growls at strangers and clogs the vacuum with all her fluff.

Now, similar to the “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes (and eyes, and ears, and mouth and nose…)” song, “The Naughty Cat Song” has actions to go with it. Now that my daughter is nearly two years old, we are getting to the fun part where she is starting to understand the actions! It’s so cute!

¡Hola a todos en Hive y especialmente a la comunidad Hive Open Mic! ¡Mi nombre es Jasper y les escribo (y canto) desde Ciudad del Cabo en Sudáfrica!

Bienvenidos a la semana 168 del Hive Open Mic Challenge. ¡La traducción al inglés del tema de la semana es "Música para niños"!

Bueno, en realidad soy padre. Mi hija cumple dos años a fines del próximo mes. He escrito varias canciones originales especialmente para tratar de entretenerla, que desde entonces se han convertido en canciones alegres que uso para romper la tensión entre las canciones más serias cuando toco, ya sea solo o en mi dúo "MobeyDick" con mi amigo @clairemobey.

Una de estas canciones alegres se llama "La canción del gato travieso". ¡Se basa en los dos gatos que tenemos como mascotas que a mi hija le encanta aterrorizar! "Mr Pickles" es nuestro niño-gato que se pone un poco vocal para las golosinas o cuando estamos hablando por teléfono. También odia al veterinario. Bunny es nuestra gatita muy esponjosa que llora durante los viajes en auto, gruñe a los extraños y obstruye la aspiradora con toda su pelusa.

Ahora, similar a la canción "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes (y ojos, y oídos, y boca y nariz...)", "The Naughty Cat Song" tiene acciones que la acompañan. ¡Ahora que mi hija tiene casi dos años, estamos llegando a la parte divertida en la que comienza a comprender las acciones! ¡Es tan lindo!
