Para el año 2018 yo estaba jubilado, así que disponía de mucho tiempo libre. Una de mis aficiones era la escritura, para aquel entonces había creado dos blogs, en uno escribía sobre la política venezolana y en el otro hacía reseñas de películas, de libros y de la música que escuchaba.

Todo eso con el fin de mantener fresca mi memoria y recordar lo que iba conociendo en cada momento. Además, casi todos los días escribía alguna nota en el Facebook. Unos años antes había sido columnista en dos periódicos regionales.

Mi sobrina, que para aquel entonces vivía en Barquisimeto, un día se comunicó conmigo por teléfono y me comentó sobre un sitio que podía interesarme. En ese momento me dijo que era sobre criptomonedas y que podrían recompensar a la gente como yo a la que le gustaba escribir. Solo me dio la información básica.

A partir de esa llamada me dediqué a investigar, pasé como dos meses tratando de conocer todo lo relacionado con Steemit. Leí muchísimas publicaciones y sobre todo tutoriales. Para ese momento no conocía a ninguna persona que pudiera ayudarme.

Al poco tiempo de estar investigando entusiasmé a mi esposa @damarysvibra, y los dos nos pasábamos los días leyendo todo lo que podíamos sobre el sitio y el mundo cripto.

Para mí todo aquello era novedoso, nunca antes me había interesado por criptomonedas o Blockchain, esas cosas estaban fuera de mi área de interés. Yo era un neófito en esos temas.

Para poder arrancar con las publicaciones la primera dificultad que confronté fue con el Markdown, para mí era un quebradero de cabeza, nunca antes había diagramado de ese modo. Pero entre tutoriales y tutoriales fui comprendiendo el asunto.

Luego de investigar bastante, con mucha emoción me inscribí en la Blockchain y me puse a trabajar en mi primera publicación, siguiendo el modelo de lo que había visto en las personas que habían tenido altas recompensas. Pensé que si seguía sus pasos a lo mejor me iba bien. Cuando consideré que ya tenía todo medianamente controlado lancé mi publicación. Aquello fue algo increíble.

Para mi sorpresa la publicación fue un éxito, recibí votos de grandes cuentas y muchísimos apoyos de personas desconocidas para mí. La verdad no me esperaba un recibimiento tan cálido, eso hizo que me enamorara más del sitio. Toda esa semana fue de un gran éxito y la recuerdo con mucho cariño.

Luego de lanzar la publicación empecé a conectarme con el Discord, aquello también fue increíble, conseguí muchos apoyos de las diferentes comunidades. En todas encontré personas amables que aclaraban mis dudas y eran pacientes con mi falta de conocimiento.

Desde aquel momento hasta hoy han transcurrido casi cuatro años. En este mes de marzo los cumplo. Todo este tiempo ha sido una linda travesía de la mano de amigos entrañables. Siempre digo que una de las cosas grandes que me ha pasado fue conocer a HIVE.

De esa manera fue que me enteré de la existencia de este mundo maravillosa. Mi sobrina me echa broma y me recuerda que le debo un porcentaje de lo que he ganado. Y es verdad, porque de no haber sido por aquella llamada suya a lo mejor me hubiese perdido de todo esto.

Una vez más agradezco a los amigos de @rutablockchain por promover este tipo de iniciativas que permiten conocernos y estrechar los lazos de la comunidad. Cada vez que puedo trato de participar en iniciativas de este tipo, la verdad es que me encantan. Para darle continuidad invito a las amigas @damrysvibra, @slwzl y @mafalda2018.

I really didn't expect such a warm reception, that made me fall in love with the site even more. That whole week was a great success and I remember it with great affection.

After launching the publication I started to connect with the Discord, that was also incredible, I got a lot of support from the different communities. In all of them I found kind people who clarified my doubts and were patient with my lack of knowledge.

From that moment until today almost four years have passed. In this month of March I will be four years old. All this time has been a beautiful journey hand in hand with dear friends. I always say that one of the greatest things that has happened to me was meeting HIVE.

That's how I found out about this wonderful world. My niece teases me and reminds me that I owe her a percentage of what I have earned. And it's true, because if it hadn't been for that phone call from her I might have missed out on all this.
