    The Conservative Party is facing its biggest leadership vote in decades, Boris has resigned and no MP is a certainty for the top job so we will have a brutal few weeks as the new election process begins.
    As chairman of the world's oldest conservative think tank, The Bow Group, Ben Harris-Quinney has had his finger on the pulse of the Tory party for well over a decade and he returns to Hearts of Oak to bring his expert insight on what we face in terms of British politics this summer.

    Ben Harris-Quinney (MSc FRSA) has been involved in politics and international relations for more than a decade, he is the longest-serving Chairman of the world’s oldest conservative think-tank The Bow Group, having also worked on foreign policy in both the UK and European Parliaments and internationally, in media & publication, consultancy, the charity sector, and as an elected politician in Hertfordshire, UK. He has advised the US, UK, Spanish, Japanese, Hungarian, and Chilean governments on security, economic, and foreign policy issues, as well as opposition parties in the UK, US, France, Bahrain, Albania, Sri Lanka, Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia & others.
    Ben has contributed regularly to a number of publications including The Daily Express, The Guardian, The Daily Mail, The Telegraph, Breitbart, The Independent, The Huffington Post, and La Razon as well as appearing on CSPAN, BBC television & radio, LBC, Talk Radio, Sky News, Channel 4, ITN, Al Jazeera, MSNBC, Russia Today, France24, TV3, and the British Forces Broadcasting Service. He is a featured opinion writer at the Daily Express newspaper.
    He has spoken at Oxford, Cambridge, the LSE, Durham, Imperial College London, The University of Navarra, The Hague University, King’s College London, and UCL, as well as many other leading universities, institutes, and education establishments. In 2019 he delivered the commencement address to the University of Cambridge International Relations Department (CUMUN) at the Cambridge University Student Union Chamber.
    Ben studied International Relations and Economics at Sciences Po & EM (Strasbourg) and the London School of Economics & Political Science where he holds a Master's degree, graduating in 2011.
    Ben founded Conservatives Abroad in Madrid in 2008 and was appointed Honorary President from 2010-2016. In 2013 he founded Conservative Grassroots as a network to reflect the true views of rank-and-file conservatives outside of London.
    From 2016-19 he served on the board of the Victoria Cross Trust, a charity focussed on commemorating the lives of winners of the Victoria Cross, Britain’s highest military medal, and served as an elected Councillor in Hertfordshire from 2012 to 2019.
    In 2010 he received the US Leadership Institute’s Global Leadership Award, and in 2014 he was made a fellow of the Royal Society (Arts, Manufactures, Commerce). In 2016 under his Chairmanship The Bow Group was awarded CIPR Think Tank of the Year.
    Prior to chairing the Bow Group from 2011 Ben served on the Group’s Council for three years, as Membership Secretary (2009/10) and Political Officer & Senior Member of Council (2010/11). In this time, he chaired the Foreign Policy Research Committee as fellow where he produced a wide range of articles and target research. In 2010 Ben published a paper entitled “Latin America – An Opportunity for the UK: A Report Based on the Spanish Experience in the Region”; in 2011 he published “The Eurozone & Germany – Crisis & Opportunity”; and in 2012 he published “To Lay in Valour – Protecting the Graves of Our Military Heroes”.
    As Chairman he has continued to author many articles and research papers on public policy, politics, and conservatism, including most recently “The UK’s Food Supplies & the Impact of Covid-19.”

    The Bow Group is the UK and the World’s oldest conservative think tank. Founded in 1951, the Bow Group exists to publish the research of its members, stimulate policy debate through an events programme and to provide an intellectual home to conservatives in the United Kingdom and beyond. The Bow Group represents all strands of conservative opinion.
