¡Hola Soundmusic! Hoy comparto algo que encontré en mi baúl de recuerdos musicales. Hace algún tiempo empecé con mis primeras producciones musicales, todo lo estaba haciendo con un celular y un programa llamado Caustic 3.

Esa app me gusta mucho ya que es muy completa, tiene varios sintetizadores, drum machines y hasta un vocoder. Lo mejor de todo fue su precio, lo compré por $20 lo cual es muy barato para lo que trae, y también comparando con otros programas más profesionales, Caustic les hace la competencia.

También tuve la versión de computadora, pero para ser honesto me gustaba escribir y producir desde mi celular. Empecé a ver algunos tutoriales de como usar el programa, y ver los resultados tan profesionales que se obtenían con una buena mezcla.

Empecé a escribir mucha música electrónica, como trance y house, pero había un género en particular que quería probar y que nadie lo había hecho con esta app, era el Minimal Wave. Este género viene de los años 80s con el surgimiento de sintetizadores y drum machines, melodías repetitivas y muy ligado al post punk, synthpop y la música electrónica de la época.

"Haze" fue el resultado de la experimentación con esta app, ya que contenía algunos sonidos vintage que hacían que se pudiera asemejar al de la época. Una batería mecánica repetitiva y rápida, sintetizadores que van apareciendo, una melodía muy simple y el bajo constante. Esta canción se asemeja mucho a esos sonidos underground de los 80s. En parte también hace mover el cuerpo y seguro que sería un buen track para bailar en una disco.

Fue un place compartir un poco sobre mi historia musical desde el punto de vista como productor y compositor, y más aún desde un celular. Eso si en esa época no sabía mucho sobre mezcla, compresión, masterizacion, etc. es por eso que el sonido puede sonar desbalanceado, cosas que he ido aprendiendo con el tiempo. Aun así espero les guste este tema y conozcan un poco sobre el sonido más desconocido.

I really like this app because it is very complete, it has several synthesizers, drum machines and even a vocoder. The best of all was its price, I bought it for $20 which is very cheap for what it comes with, and also comparing with other more professional programs, Caustic makes them the competition.

I also had the computer version, but to be honest I liked to write and produce from my cell phone. I started to watch some tutorials on how to use the program, and see the professional results that could be obtained with a good mix.

I started writing a lot of electronic music, like trance and house, but there was one genre in particular that I wanted to try and no one had done it with this app, it was Minimal Wave. This genre comes from the 80s with the emergence of synthesizers and drum machines, repetitive melodies and very linked to post punk, synthpop and electronic music of the time.

"Haze" was the result of experimentation with this app, as it contained some vintage sounds that made it resemble that of the time. A repetitive and fast mechanical drum machine, popping synthesizers, a very simple melody and steady bass. This song is very similar to those underground sounds of the 80s. Partly it also makes the body move and it would surely be a good track to dance to in a disco.

It was a pleasure to share a little bit about my musical history from the point of view as a producer and composer, and even more from a cell phone. At that time I didn't know much about mixing, compression, mastering, etc. that's why the sound can sound unbalanced, things that I've been learning with time.
