    About :

Hello everyone, welcome to another Hive Learners Creative Sunday Initiative with George Dee. Today, I prepared something delicious as usual and believe you will love it.

I made porridge but not the regular yam porridge. The porridge was made with plantain and potato, the combination of both foods resulted in something magical. Potatoes and plantain are naturally sweet food so you can imagine how delicious the porridge was.

The goodness of the porridge doesn't end with just the taste, both plantain and potato are rich in nutrients that are essential for the body. In simple words, the porridge is nutritious and healthy for both young and old.

Aside from the taste and nutrition, preparing the porridge doesn't cost much. All the required recipes are common items we can find in our food market at cheap prices.

    Recipes

    -Potato

    -Plantain

    -Pepper

    -Onion

    -Garlic & Ginger

    -Salt & Seasoning Cubes

    -Groundnut oil

    -Palm oil

    Procedure

I started with processing the recipe.

-Peel the potatoes, cut them into smaller sizes and wash them thoroughly.

-Remove the plantain back and cut it into smaller pieces too.

    -Slice or blend the pepper.

-Slice the onions, ginger and garlic. You can blend them if you want.

-Soak the crayfish in water too.

    1. Boil the potato first and add the plantain some minutes later. Potato requires me more time to cook than plantain so it's best to cook them at different intervals. I removed them from the fire immediately after they became soft and turned them into a basket.

    2. I moved on to preparing the sauce in which the potatoes and plantain would be cooked later. I fried the Crayfish first and added both oils.

    3. When the oil became hot, I added the onion, ginger and garlic before the pepper about a minute later. I added the seasoning and allowed everything to fry for some minutes. I added a small quantity of water to the sauce after it fried, the potatoes and plantain would need it for the rest of the cooking.

    4. About two minutes later, I added the cooked potatoes and plantain. It cooked for some minutes again before mashing them with a turning stick which made the porridge thicker.

    5. It cooked again for another minute and the porridge was ready.

I made the porridge as simple as possible and there are several other recipes you can add such as vegetables, fish, chicken and others. I would have loved vegetables but couldn't get any at that time, adding vegetables would have added a lot to the taste and nutrients.

I hope you all enjoyed the video, thanks for watching and have a beautiful week.
