Cuando a mi esposa @mariolisrnaranjo se le ocurrió grabarnos haciendo un cover de una canción, me emocioné muchísimo. Me agradaba la idea de tener algo más en común, así que le dije: —¡que esperas, vamos cuando desees"! Ya que a mí me gustan todos estos nuevos retos, además de que me pareció ideal que compartiera esta experiencia conmigo. Aquí entre nosotros, le encanta cantar muy a menudo. Principalmente en la ducha, "pero ahí no se vale, tienes que cantar para los amigos de La Colmena", como muchas veces le dije a modo de bromas.

No me pasaría ni por un segundo por la cabeza, el grado de complejidad de lo que supone hacer estos arreglos musicales. Mucho más cuando uno no tiene el conocimiento necesario, ni siquiera la idea de lo que hace. Lo que verán en este video que a continuación les ofrecemos, es simple naturaleza empírica de dos apasionados por la música.

When my wife @mariolisrnaranjo came up with the idea of recording us covering a song, I was very excited. I liked the idea of having something more in common, so I told her: "what are you waiting for, let's go whenever you want"! Since I like all these new challenges, plus I thought it was ideal for him to share this experience with me. Here between us, she loves to sing very often. I wouldn't even think for a second about the degree of complexity involved in making these musical arrangements. Much more so when one does not have the necessary knowledge, not even the idea of what one is doing. What you will see in this video below is the simple empirical nature of two passionate music lovers.

O de cierto modo llámenlo locura, si quieren; al final, díganme qué sería de la vida sin esos toques de adrenalina, sin estos impulsos de hacer cosas que te superan. ¿Por qué no cantar, o tocar la guitarra si es lo que quieres? Hacer este cover tomó demasiado tiempo, pues a mi esposa, al parecer, le cuesta un poco de trabajo para aprender las letras de las canciones. Incluso le cambia la letra en muchas ocasiones, así que se imaginarán lo divertido que fue todo este proceso de varios ensayos. Fueron tantos que me pude aprender los acordes de memoria, pero la magia no se la quita nadie, a mí me gustó mucho el resultado final.

Making this cover took too long, as my wife, it seems, has a hard time learning the lyrics of the songs. She even changes the lyrics on many occasions, so you can imagine how much fun this whole process of several rehearsals was. There were so many that I was able to learn the chords by heart, but no one could take away the magic, I really liked the final result.

El tema que escogimos para el cover fue "Dueles", una hermosa canción del dúo mexicano Jesse & Joy. Los hermanos Huerta, que formaron este grupo en el 2005, desde sus inicios han defendido la música pop. Aunque han incursionado también en otros géneros como el R & B, Folk, Dance, electrónica, entre otros. Siempre atrayendo a su público con la delicadeza de hermosas letras románticas.

Personalmente, me gustan todas sus canciones, el timbre de voz de la cantante es impresionante. Al escucharla, nos lo hace sentir como si fuera tan fácil, pues se nota muy cómoda en sus interpretaciones. Pero escogí este tema en particular, porque quería escucharlo de la voz de mi esposa, la que considero lo hizo bastante bien a pesar de la complejidad.

But I chose this particular song because I wanted to hear it from my wife's voice, which I think she did quite well despite the complexity.

Me agrada ver como ha crecido el talento musical que se reúne en esta familia de creadores, de la que todos formamos parte.
