Howdy, Hivers. This week the open mic gives us a wonderful and somewhat difficult challenge, the Asian culture for us westerners, is little known, but when we get into it, we notice that it is as immense as the universe. Asian music has its roots in ancient civilizations, from the Arab with songs that were raised to the wing, the Chinese dynasties with their veneration of the gods and even the Indian, which mainly represented the energies that move the universe; but there is something that perhaps we have not realized, Asian musical manifestations, have a strong relationship with harmony and melody that are very close to each other.

Today I want to bring you a cover of a group of Asian music where we can see that powerful relationship between Arabic music (yes, it is Asian), Indian and Chinese. When we listen well we can notice that at times we can believe that it is Arabic music, at other times, Indian and at other times Chinese, but it is the musical richness of the region that makes it so unique. "Faran ensemble" surely in the West very few of us know their music, but it is something undeniably beautiful and this time for the "Hive open mic" I bring you "Wind". Asian culture is vast and gigantic.

Que tal, Hivers. Esta semana el open mic nos pone un reto maravilloso y un tanto difícil, la cultura asiática para nosotros los occidentales, es bastante poco conocida, pero cuando nos adentramos en ella, notamos que es tan inmensa como el universo. La música asiática tiene sus raíces desde antiguas civilizaciones, desde la árabe con cantos que eran elevados a ala, las dinastías chinas con su veneración a los dioses e incluso la indú, que principalmente representaban las energías que moeven el universo; pero hay algo que tal vez no nos hayamos dado cuenta, las manifestaciones musicales asiáticas,

tienen una fuerte relación, con la armonía y melodía que se acercan bastante de unas a otras. Hoy quiero traerles un cover de una agrupación de música asiática donde podemos ver esa relación poderosa entre la música árabe (si, es asiática) la indú y la china. Donde al atender bien podremos notar que en momentos podremos creer que es música árabe, en otros momentos, indú y en otros momentos china, pero es esa riqueza musical de la región que hace tan única. “Faran ensemble” seguramente en occidente muy pocos conocemos su música, pero es algo indiscutiblemente hermoso y en esta ocasión para el “Hive open mic” les traigo “Wind”. La cultura asiática es basta y gigantesca.
