When The Ship Come's In - Bob Dylan Cover

Well, Its been over a month since I found the inspiration to record and post a song here.

-Bueno, ha pasado más de un mes desde que encontré la inspiración para grabar y publicar una canción aquí.-

I guess I kind of burnt out a little, these past 4 years music has really been all I have focused on. I've learned over 100 songs since the early days of the pandemic in 2020 and I guess I just ran out of steam for a while.

Here we are in a New Year, a new beginning, and a fresh start. Recently I have found myself picking the guitar back up again and revisiting some of the songs that initially inspired me to play guitar and sing.

Last week I watched the movie "Im Not There" which is inspired by the life and music of Bob Dylan. The movie features an all-star cast of actors who play Bob at different stages of his life. The actors that play him include,Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Ben Whishaw and Marcus Carl Franklin.

-La semana pasada vi la película "Im Not There", que está inspirada en la vida y la música de Bob Dylan. La película presenta un elenco estelar de actores que interpretan a Bob en diferentes etapas de su vida. There is a scene in the movie where Marcus Carl Franklin's version of Bob plays the song "When The Ship Comes In". This is one of my favorite tunes from Bob Dylan's early career.It was first released on his 1964 album "The Times They Are A Changing"

In the past, I have played this song with the capo on the 5th fret. Recently however I have found it really suits a guitar tuned down to the D standard tuning of D/G/C/F/A/D. This tuning allows me to sing the song in a vocal style that resembles Dylan's tone of voice.

-En el pasado, he tocado esta canción con el capo en el quinto traste. Recientemente, sin embargo, descubrí que realmente se adapta a una guitarra afinada con la afinación estándar D de D/G/C/F/A/D. I found a comfortable space up in my attic room with an old rocking chair and nice acoustics to record this song. The way the camera is positioned catches the light coming from one of the windows which lights my face in a peculiar fashion but I believe the results of this look pretty good.
