Hello to everyone in the Threeshorts community! Today I bring you a video summary of what was my tour of Los Olivos, one of the oldest housing developments in Puerto Ordaz, Bolivar, Venezuela. I took this walk with my mother who is visiting my new home this week and had never been able to see these spaces before (she is from Valencia). So it was a good afternoon to go out, do some errands and visit the park in the area.

To get to Los Olivos you can do it by public transportation (as you can see in the video, it goes from end to end; Alta Vista - Los Olivos) or you can walk there if you are in the surroundings of Los Mangos, La Churuata or Toro Muerto. We took the bus down, as we needed to get to the bank early before they closed. Fortunately my mother was able to do her errand successfully and we left for the church area, as one of the things my mother likes to see the most when she visits a new state, are the religious temples.

Along the streets we will find little houses full of gardens, various groceries, commercial stores, street vendors and the pisteros (those who provide transportation services by car). Some of the shots in the video show the above. We finally arrived at the Coromoto Church, a place that is known for its bell tower of great height, beautiful stained glass windows and unusual architectural appearance. The bell tower, unlike other churches, is separated from the Coromoto church. This church is guarded by the Coromoto Foundation. My mother promised to return to attend the mass, as we arrived quite early. If you are interested, the schedule is 6:00 pm on weekdays and 5:00 pm on Sundays.

Finally my friends, I hope you have enjoyed this brief tour of the beautiful residence of Los Olivos. The last picture where I am with my mother, was taken in Chiapa Park, a place where the residents go for a walk. ¡Hola a todos en la comunidad de Threeshorts! El día de hoy les traigo un vídeo resumen de lo que fue mí recorrido por Los Olivos, una de las urbanizaciones más antiguas de todo Puerto Ordaz, Bolívar, Venezuela. Realice este paseo junto a mí madre quién se encuentra visitando esta semana mí nuevo hogar y nunca antes había podido conocer estos espacios (ella es de Valencia). Así que era una buena tarde para salir, hacer algunas diligencias y visitar el parque de la zona.

Para llegar a los Olivos puedes hacerlo por medio del transporte público (cómo ven en el vídeo, recorre de extremo a extremo; Alta Vista - Los Olivos) o pueden llegar caminando si se encuentran en los alrededores de Los Mangos, La Churuata o Toro Muerto. Nosotros bajamos en bus, pues necesitábamos llegar temprano al banco antes de que cerraran. Afortunadamente mí madre pudo hacer su diligencia con éxito y partimos hacia la zona de la iglesia, pues una de las cosas que más le gusta conocer a mí madre cuando visita un nuevo estado, son los templos religiosos.

Por las calles encontraremos casitas llenas de jardines, abastos varios, tiendas comerciales, vendedores ambulantes y los pisteros (quienes realizan servicios de transporte en carro). Algunas de las tomas del vídeo muestran lo descrito. Llegamos finalmente a la Iglesia Coromoto, lugar que es conocido por su torre campanaria de gran altura, de vitrales preciosos y aspecto arquitectónico inusual. El campanario a diferencia de otras iglesias, se encuentra separado de la iglesia Coromoto. Esta iglesia es resguardada por la Fundación Coromoto. Mí madre prometió volver para asistir a la misa, pues llegamos bastante temprano. Sí están interesados, el horario es de las 6:00 pm los días de semana y los domingos es a las 5:00pm.

Finalmente amigos mío, espero que hayan disfrutado de este breve recorrido por la bella residencia de Los Olivos. La última imagen dónde estoy junto a mí madre, fue tomada en el Parque Chipia, lugar que los residentes ocupan para pasear.
