Another week, another awesome theme to go on the stage of the #openmic. The song I chose for this entry isn't challenging, but I wanted to learn it since there were many cuatro players uploading their versions to social media.

It also gives me the change to make an homage to one of my favorite singer in the Blockchain, the talented @yetxuni. She's not exactly from Mérida, but there's this thing where we are from all the places where there's family. So, I'd count her a gorgeous woman from Mérida. But this is besides the point, what I admire the most about Yetxuni is her voice. She has the power to make incredible performances every single time. This one is for you. ✨

The title of the song speaks about this. It's called Preciosa Merideña, by composer Pedro J. Castellano. Trying to look for the author of this song was weird. It seems the piece has many names besides the original. The thing is that they change the adjective. Sometimes it's, Linda; others, Hermosa. But the idea is the same.

I hope you enjoy this beautiful Venezuelan Waltz. And as always, it's pleasure to enjoy and share performances with my brothers and sisters in music on this Blockchain. Our bonds of fraternity keep this community and the musical community as a whole going.

Cover Semana 160

Otra semana nos trae otro tema interesante para la puesta en escena del #openmic. La canción en esta ocasión no es muy compleja, pero quise aprenderla porque muchos cuatristas estaban subiendo sus versiones a las redes sociales.

También es una oportunidad de darle un pequeño homenaje a una de mis cantantes favoritas en Hive. Hablo de la talentosa @yetxuni. Ella no es exactamente de Mérida, pero en Venezuela tenemos esta idea de que uno es de dónde tenga familia. Así que para mí, cuenta como una Preciosa Merideña. Aunque esto va más allá de mi objetivo. Yetxuni tiene una voz poderosa con al que siempre nos brinda covers increíbles.

El título del cover de esta semana es como lo pudieron adivinar: Preciosa Merideña. Es un vals venezolano de autor Pedro J. Castellano. Un hecho curioso es que mientras buscaba el nombre del compositor me encontré con variaciones de nombre. En algunas, era Linda Merideña; en otras, Hermosa Merideña. Siempre algún sinónimo del adjetivo original.

Espero que disfruten de esta cover. Siempre es un gusto compartir un poco de mi trabajo con mis hermanos y hermanas en la música. Así como es grato verlos poner su talento en video. Espero que esta fraternidad que mantiene viva la comunidad musical de Hive siga creciendo en números y vínculos.
