Domingo de Entrenamiento con resultado Imprevisto

De nuevo por aquí con una nueva historia que ha dejado un sabor amargo en nuestro grupo, por lo general escribo las aventuras en orden cronológico, pero esta fué impactante y contarla alivia la tensión emocional que nos embarga ante la situación que vivió nuestra compañera Andreina el domingo 08/10/2023. Este día salimos a las 7 a.m a recorrer y prepararnos para el Reto a la cumbre de Choroni en el cual estaremos participando el día 05/11/2023, esta competencia se ha convertido en uno de los eventos mas esperado en la comunidad ciclística ya que hace 12 años no se realizaba.

Here again with a new story that has left a bitter taste in our group, usually I write the adventures in chronological order, but this one was shocking and telling it relieves the emotional tension that overwhelms us with the situation that our companion Andreina experienced on Sunday 08/10/2023. This day we left at 7 a.m. to ride and prepare for the Choroni Summit Challenge in which we will be participating on 05/11/2023, this competition has become one of the most awaited events in the cycling community since 12 years ago it was not done.

En esta oportunidad, cada uno fué a su ritmo, velocidad y cadencia para tomar el tiempo, esto hizo que Andreina por su preparación y condición física se adelantara en la compleja carretera que le quita el aliento al mas entrenado. Cuando Dari y mi persona estábamos llegando a la meta, ella venía de regreso con otros compañeros ciclista, nos grito: "me voy porque las niñas están solas". "ok" respondimos nosotras. Al llegar a la cumbre lo primero que hicimos fué saciar el hambre, la tensión bajó, descansamos y compartimos experiencia con los ciclistas que allí se encontraban, solo nos quedaba el regreso a casa.

In this opportunity, everyone went at their own pace, speed and cadence to take the time, this made Andreina for her preparation and physical condition to be ahead in the complex road that takes the breath away from the most trained. When Dari and I were arriving at the finish line, she was coming back with other fellow cyclists, she shouted: "I'm leaving because the girls are alone". "Ok" we replied. When we reached the summit the first thing we did was to satisfy our hunger, the tension went down, we rested and shared experience with the cyclists who were there, we only had to return home.

Tomás, Dari y mi persona nos concentramos en la bajada, el día estuvo soleado y caluroso, pero la abundante vegetación de la montaña favoreció el clima. En esta vía se consiguen cascadas y manantiales que atraviesan la carretera convirtiéndose en un riesgo adicional porque son resbaladizos al igual que las hojas secas que caen de los arboles junto a la humedad es un peligro inminente. Justo fué lo que pasó nuestra compañera al resbalar los cauchos de su bicicleta e impactar su cabeza con el pavimento, el casco la protegió de consecuencias mayores quedando inservible.

De esto nos enteramos cuando Manuel habló por teléfono con el chico que presenció el accidente el cual estaba preocupado porque ella quedó aturdida y no recordaba nada, también cuenta que ella (Andreina) pedía que la llevaran a su casa, afortunadamente pasaba una pareja en una camioneta la cual accedió a trasladarla a su residencia. Al encontrarnos con Manuel y Johan nos cuentan la situación, Dari la llama y estaba en crisis, fuimos a buscarla para llevarla a una revisión médica, afortunadamente Anahys (aventurerabike) es traumatologo y encaminó las acciones para la debida atención. Le tomaron las placas solicitadas las cuales fueron revisadas también por un neurocirujano, determinando una contusión cerebral y una lesión en la columna vertebral que amerita fisiatría para su rehabilitación.

We found out about this when Manuel spoke on the phone with the guy who witnessed the accident who was worried because she was stunned and did not remember anything, he also said that she (Andreina) asked to be taken home, fortunately a couple was passing by in a van which agreed to move her to her residence. When we met with Manuel and Johan they told us the situation, Dari called her and she was in crisis, we went to pick her up to take her to a medical checkup, fortunately Anahys (aventurerabike) is a traumatologist and directed the actions for proper care. They took the requested plates which were also reviewed by a neurosurgeon, determining a brain contusion and a spinal injury that requires physiatry for rehabilitation.

Se encuentra bajo supervisión y tratamiento médico con un buen pronostico, aunque es muy pronto confiamos que así será...Solo nos queda esperar su pronta recuperación para seguir sumando kilómetros de vida...¡ESTAMOS CONTIGO Y TE AMAMOS ANDREINA!

She is under medical supervision and treatment with a good prognosis, although it is very early we are confident that it will be so ... We can only hope for her speedy recovery to continue adding miles of life ... ¡WE ARE WITH YOU AND WE LOVE YOU ANDREINA!
