There is a fine art to making industrially green medicinal smoothies not only drinkable, but delicious. When ill health forces a person to make rapid dietary changes suddenly incorporating LOTS of greens, taste is everything.
I asked my friend Andy, now on a strict dietary regime for Stage 4 pancreatic-liver-lung cancer about his daily green intake:
"Urgh - it's disgusting!", he said, describing the green smoothie his Thai friend makes for him.
🤣🤣🤣
And hence this video and my Triple-Green-Kombucha-Cacao recipe.
Please watch.
The ingredients, in case you miss it in the video:
1 cup unpasteurized kombucha
Coconut milk
Lime juice
2 small bananas - less sweet, Thai-Asian bananas preferred
2 handfuls of fresh, young greens
1 heaped teaspoon organic moringa powder
1 heaped teaspoon organic matcha green tea
1 tablespoon organic raw cacao
A little pure water
Makes enough for 2 meal-sized servings.
"My daughter's verdict: "It wasn't sweet, but pretty enjoyable. You could taste the kombucha and it worked well with the chocolate. And I'm still full 3 hours later. I didn't know you could get that much green stuff in one glass." Thank you @ploimrt for being endlessly awesome at slugging down your mama's test recipes. 😆 Promise to buy some lychees to try the cacao-lychee "thing" next.
