BODY FLOW SERIES #8: Hoop Doubles
Whoah! I performed for a wedding. This is a very special moment for me that I'd very much like to share with you for two reasons 1.) This is the first time I ever performed for a wedding and 2.) This is my first time to do this kind of choreography. I was really nervous because I really wanted to meet the bride and groom's expectation especially that this song is their favorite. There is so much meaning to the song and I couldn't help but feel pressured to delivery its message through or performance. The title of the song is "Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko", Filipino phrase which means "Even When My Hair Turns White"
Let me just quote a part of the song in English translation (because it's so beautiful)
"When We're finally old, I hope we remain the same
Whenever, wherever, this will be my dream
Will you still get to kiss and embrace me?
Until we grow old,
I'm just asking you, will you still love me?
If my hair will turn white
The day will come, and your hair will turn white too,
Together we will reminisce our past
We will return what has passed,
I will make you remember my promise
That my love is always for you
Even if my hair has turned white"
It's funny because it's much more romantic in Filipino. Anyway, we practiced the whole routine for only 3 days - which was crazy. I'm happy that my dance partner was patient with me because I had episodes of breakdown due to the time pressure, and the pressure to pull it off well.
The performance ended with warm smiles and embrace from the bride and groom (pre-Covid times). The tears and sacrifices was really worth it, after seeing their happy faces.
