Hola, amigos de #geekzone. Esta semana vengo a compartirles un nuevo juego que estaba esperando desde hace unas semanas, se llama TR Reloaded. Es del tipo arcade y está basado en la famosísima saga de videojuegos Tomb Raider, se encuentra disponible de forma gratuita para teléfonos móviles, tanto en Android como en iOS. Desde que lo vi en la lista de prerregistro me emocioné y me apunté para que me avisara cuando saliera, esto pasó el día martes y en cuanto me llegó la notificación de que ya estaba disponible lo instalé inmediatamente.

TR es, sin duda alguna, mi saga de videojuegos favorita, he jugado absolutamente todos los que han sacado: los viejitos con la Lara poligonal, los más recientes de Crystal Dynamics, incluso las versiones móviles que la verdad no son muy buenas que digamos. Así que supuesto que este juego no iba a ser la excepción, les puedo decir que incluso hice el prerregistro y la instalación sin ni siquiera ver de qué se trataba, por lo que estos primeros minutos de juego fueron completamente a ciegas.

Después de este primer gameplay debo decir que tengo sentimientos encontrados, hubo cosas que me gustaron mucho y otras que detesté. En líneas generales, es un juego de calabozos en el que debemos correr y disparar para ir despejando el camino y así lograr avanzar. La historia que más o menos sigue, y digo más o menos por qué en realidad no nos cuentan mucho que digamos, es la del primer Tomb Raider, lo que significa que tenemos a la Lara clásica de regreso, solo que en una versión mucho más caricaturesca, también cuenta con la música de los primeros juegos y regreso las míticas pistolas de siempre, ambas cosas fueron de lo que más me emocionó en este primer acercamiento (sobre todo la música, como se darán cuenta en el video).

Dejando al lado mi emoción inicial por todos los elementos nostálgicos, debo decir que el modo de juego no me gustó para nada, ya que es de esos en los que el personaje dispara automáticamente y nosotros solo controlamos su movimiento. Me hubiera gustado una modalidad un poco más similar a los otros juegos, parece que seguimos destinados a no ver en móviles un TR “normal”. Pero esos son gustos personales, a final de cuentas la acción es divertida y llega un momento en el que todo se vuelve un poco caótico por la cantidad de enemigos que hay en los calabozos.

En los primeros niveles no encontré demasiada dificultad, excepto con el jefe final, con el cual tuve que usar una continuación (se permite solo una por etapa), ya que me costó un poco agarrarle la onda a su patrón, por suerte esa primera continuación no me costó nada. El problema me llegó en los niveles de la siguiente etapa, la cosa se puso un poco más complicada y terminé utilizando una continuación, que gané viendo un anuncio (sí, hay anuncios, pero no interrumpen el juego), antes de tiempo, al final terminé muriendo por segunda vez y hasta ahí llegó mi expedición del día.

A pesar de tener una mecánica que no me encanta, me envicié un poco y terminé jugando casi 40 minutos, cuando mi idea inicial era solamente probarlo durante media hora, pero eso fue imposible porque además de los niveles hay misiones, mejoras, recompensas y una tienda, así que es muy fácil perderse entre todas las opciones que hay para ver. Por lo pronto yo seguiré explorando mazmorras e intentando avanzar hasta lograr terminar los niveles que hasta ahora han lanzado.

New vice unlocked | TR Reloaded

Hello, #geekzone friends. This week I come to share with you a new game that I've been waiting for a few weeks, it's called TR Reloaded. It is of the arcade type and is based on the very famous Tomb Raider video game saga, it is available for free for cell phones, both Android and iOS. Since I saw it on the pre-registration list I got excited and I signed up to be notified when it came out, this happened on Tuesday and as soon as I got the notification that it was already available I installed it immediately.

TR is, without a doubt, my favorite videogame saga, I have played absolutely all the ones they have released: the old ones with the polygonal Lara, the most recent ones by Crystal Dynamics, even the mobile versions, which are not very good to say the truth. So of course this game was not going to be the exception, I can tell you that I even did the pre-registration and installation without even seeing what it was about, so these first minutes of gameplay were completely blind.

After this first gameplay I must say that I have mixed feelings, there were things that I really liked and others that I hated. In general terms, it is a dungeon crawler game in which we have to run and shoot to clear the path and advance. The story that more or less follows, and I say more or less because they don't really tell us much, is that of the first Tomb Raider, which means that we have the classic Lara back, only in a much more cartoonish version, it also has the music of the first games and the mythical guns of always, both things were what excited me the most in this first approach (especially the music, as you will notice in the video).

Leaving aside my initial excitement for all the nostalgic elements, I must say that I didn't like the gameplay at all, since it's one of those where the character shoots automatically and we only control its movement. I would have liked a mode a little more similar to the other games, it seems that we are still destined not to see a "normal" TR on mobile. But those are personal tastes, at the end of the day the action is fun and there comes a time when everything becomes a bit chaotic because of the amount of enemies in the dungeons.

In the first levels I didn't find too much difficulty, except with the final boss, with which I had to use a continuation (only one is allowed per stage), since it took me a while to get the hang of his pattern, luckily that first continuation didn't cost me anything. The problem came in the levels of the next stage, things got a little more complicated and I ended up using a continuation, which I won by watching an ad (yes, there are ads, but they do not interrupt the game), before time, in the end I ended up dying for the second time and that was the end of my expedition of the day.

Despite having a mechanic that I don't love, I got a bit addicted and ended up playing for almost 40 minutes, when my initial idea was only to try it for half an hour, but that was impossible because in addition to the levels there are missions, upgrades, rewards and a store, so it's very easy to get lost among all the options there are to see. For now I will continue exploring dungeons and trying to advance until I manage to finish the levels that have been released so far.
