Hola, amigos de #geekzone, el día de hoy regreso con un nuevo gameplay. En esta oportunidad se trata de un juego llamado The Ghost Case, perteneciente a la saga de juegos ambientados en el pueblo de Hidden Town. Esta es una aventura "point & click" llena de puzzles y suspenso, desarrollada por la empresa Dark Dome, este es el cuarto juego que pruebo de ellos y me ha encantado al igual que los anteriores. Esta vez, a diferencia de las dos anteriores, logré pasar el juego en una sola sentada, aunque creo que influyó mucho que los puzzles eran mucho más intuitivos que los anteriores, además, ya le he agarrado un poco la vuelta a los acertijos que nos plantean los creadores de la saga.

The Ghost Case tiene como protagonista a un detective quien comienza a ser perseguido por los fantasmas de dos jóvenes que fueron asesinados hace años y de los cuales nunca se pudo resolver el caso. Poco a poco, el detective comienza desenterrar misterios del pasado, lo que lo lleva no solamente a descubrir qué pasó en realidad con los hermanos asesinados, sino que se da cuenta de que un nuevo crimen está a punto de suceder y que está en sus manos salvar a dos jóvenes de un trágico destino.

Considero que este juego, a pesar de haberlo completado de una sola sentada, ha sido el que más puzzles ha tenido de los cuatro que he probado, por suerte no fueron tan desafiantes como los de la entrega anterior, con los cuales si batallé bastante. Hubo varios que me parecieron bastante pesados de resolver porque había que seguir varios pasos, pero como les dije al principio, todos fueron lo bastante intuitivos como para no llevarme a alcanzar un punto de frustración que me hiciera pausar el juego.

Como ya viene siendo costumbre en estos juegos, hubo un elemento nuevo en la jugabilidad y es que ahora nos habilitan un mapa de lugares que nos permite viajar a los diferentes sitios a los que debemos ir para continuar nuestra investigación. Esto fue algo que me encantó, ya que marca una diferencia significativa con respecto a las entregas anteriores, en las cuales solamente nos encontrábamos encerrados en un solo escenario, siendo nuestro objetivo escapar de este.

Los dos primeros puntos en los que comenzaremos nuestra investigación son la comisaría y la casa de las víctimas, la cual es justamente la misma casa del primer juego de la saga, es decir, es nuestra responsabilidad investigar la muerte de los dos hermanos con los que interactuamos en "The girl in the window". Este detalle me encantó porque muestra que todos los juegos tienen una conexión entre sí que va más allá de estar ambientados en el mismo pueblo.

A medida que la investigación avanza, vamos desbloqueando nuevos sitios donde recabar las pistas que nos ayudarán a finalmente resolver el caso, además de permitirnos salvar a dos futuras víctimas del mismo destino que sufrieron los hermanos, en total son 7 los escenarios que recorreremos entrevistando NPCs y resolviendo puzzles. Si bien podría parecer que todas las entregas son iguales, la verdad es que la integración de estas diferentes mecánicas de juego, hacen que cada uno tenga su toque especial.

En líneas generales me pareció un juego bastante entretenido, quizás un poco más fácil de resolver en comparación con el anterior, en el cual los puzzles eran significativamente más abstractos que en este, sin embargo, eso lo compensan con una amplia variedad de escenarios y una cantidad enorme de acertijos para resolver. El único punto que no me gustó es que a diferencia de las otras entregas, en esta me topé con mucha más publicidad, si bien no son tan invasivas y se pueden evitar pagando por la versión sin anuncios, la verdad es que los que aparecen si interrumpen un poco el ritmo de juego. Fuera de ese detalle es un juego estupendo, lleno de misterio y con un final que me dejó con ganas de probar el que sigue, para seguir descubriendo todas las cosas turbias que ocurren en Hidden Town.

The Ghost Case | Full gameplay

Hello, #geekzone friends, today I'm back with a new gameplay. This time it is a game called The Ghost Case, belonging to the saga of games set in the town of Hidden Town. This is a point & click adventure full of puzzles and suspense, developed by the company Dark Dome, this is the fourth game I've tried from them and I loved it just like the previous ones. This time, unlike the previous two, I managed to pass the game in one sitting, although I think it influenced a lot that the puzzles were much more intuitive than the previous ones, besides, I've already got the hang of the puzzles that the creators of the saga pose.

The Ghost Case has as its main character a detective who begins to be haunted by the ghosts of two young people who were murdered years ago and whose case could never be solved. Little by little, the detective begins to unearth mysteries from the past, which leads him not only to discover what really happened to the murdered brothers, but he realizes that a new crime is about to happen and that it is in his hands to save two young people from a tragic fate.

I consider that this game, despite having completed it in one sitting, has been the one with the most puzzles of the four I've tried, luckily they were not as challenging as those of the previous installment, with which I did struggle quite a bit. There were several that I found quite heavy to solve because you had to follow several steps, but as I said at the beginning, all were intuitive enough to not lead me to reach a point of frustration that made me pause the game.

As has become customary in these games, there was a new element in the gameplay and that is that we are now enabled with a map of locations that allows us to travel to the different places we need to go to continue our investigation. This was something I loved, as it marks a significant difference from previous installments, in which we only found ourselves locked in a single scenario, our goal being to escape from it.

The first two points where we will start our investigation are the police station and the victims' house, which is precisely the same house of the first game of the saga, that is, it is our responsibility to investigate the death of the two brothers with whom we interact in "The girl in the window ". I loved this detail because it shows that all the games have a connection between them that goes beyond being set in the same town.

As the investigation progresses, we unlock new places to collect clues that will help us finally solve the case, as well as allowing us to save two future victims of the same fate suffered by the brothers, in total there are 7 scenarios that we will go through interviewing NPCs and solving puzzles. While it may seem that all the installments are the same, the truth is that the integration of these different game mechanics, make each one has its special touch.

Overall I found the game quite entertaining, perhaps a little easier to solve compared to the previous one, in which the puzzles were significantly more abstract than in this one, however, that is compensated with a wide variety of scenarios and a huge amount of puzzles to solve. The only point I didn't like is that unlike the other installments, in this one I encountered a lot more advertising, although they are not so invasive and can be avoided by paying for the version without ads, the truth is that those that appear do interrupt the rhythm of the game a bit. Other than that, it's a great game, full of mystery and with an ending that left me wanting to try the next one, to continue discovering all the shady things that happen in Hidden Town.
