Desde antes de llegar a Tenerife, había un destino que quería visitar y conocer ya que muchos hablan de él. Se trata de una playa muy renombrada entre los canarios y extranjeros, con arenas que se distinguen de las arenas de color negro que abundan en el norte de la isla. Las Teresitas es una playa con arena que no es autóctona. Es arena traída del Desierto del Sahara. Puede sonar lejos, pero es que en realidad ese desierto se encuentra muy cerca de las Islas Canarias, las cuales se encuentran cercanas de la costa noroeste de África, frente a las costas de Marruecos y el Sahara Occidental.

Solía ser una playa de arena negra hasta los años 70'. En aquel entonces, se transformó en una playa más grande y con arenas de color claro. En el sur de la isla, hay playas naturales de arena clara. En el norte predominan las de arena negra. En un próximo video de Explorando Tenerife, podríamos visitar alguna playa de arena negra, lo cual es algo totalmente nuevo para mi.

Toda mi vida he estado acostumbrado a las playas del mar caribe, en Venezuela. Si bien en Venezuela nunca llegué a visitar playas de Margarita y de Puerto La Cruz, mi experiencia en los Cayos del Parque Nacional Morrocoy y en otras playas de Aragua y de La Guaira, me daban un punto de comparación previo a visitar alguna playa de España. Y la verdad es que Las Teresitas es una playa muy buena que se equipara muy bien con las de mi país. Sin embargo, en mi opinión, hay un aspecto en el que las playas del Mar Caribe superan a esta ¿Qué será? Vamos a comentarlo a continuación.

Las Islas Canarias se encuentran en el Océano Atlántico, es decir, estamos hablando de algo mucho más grande que un mar. Por lo tanto, el viento que llega es más fuerte, y más frío. Las Teresitas es una playa muy ventosa, lo cual hace que pueda levantarse cierta arena. Si vienes de un país como Alemania, Inglaterra, Rusia o Noruega, esta playa puede parecerte un paraíso tropical, pero si vienes de un país cálido, el viento frío puede hacértelo pensar dos veces antes de meterte al agua. Fui a esta playa en el mes de abril, cuando las temperaturas de invierno ya han pasado. Hacía un sol bastante fuerte, quizás no tanto como en Venezuela, pero se hacía sentir.

A pesar del sol intenso, el viento me hacía sentir frío, era algo extraño para mí porque nunca antes en mi vida había sentido frío al mismo tiempo que el sol me quemaba la piel. Quizás fuí en un día muy ventoso, ya que el clima aquí en Tenerife es muy variante. Sin embargo, en verano puede que el viento sea menos frío. Pero, a pesar de esto, yo recomendaría altamente visitar esta playa ya que vale la pena. Está entre las mejores playas de Tenerife.

Las Teresitas is a beach with sand that is not autochthonous. It is sand brought from the Sahara Desert. It may sound far away, but that desert is actually very close to the Canary Islands, which are near the northwest coast of Africa, off the coast of Morocco and Western Sahara.

It used to be a black sand beach until the 1970s. At that time, it was transformed into a larger beach with light-colored sands. In the south of the island, there are natural beaches of light sand. In the north, black sand beaches predominate. In an upcoming video of Exploring Tenerife, we might visit some black sand beaches, which is something totally new to me.

All my life I have been used to the beaches of the Caribbean Sea, in Venezuela. Although in Venezuela I never visited the beaches of Margarita and Puerto La Cruz, my experience in the keys of the Morrocoy National Park and other beaches of Aragua and La Guaira, gave me a point of comparison before visiting a beach in Spain. And the truth is that Las Teresitas is a very good beach that compares very well with those in my country. Las Teresitas is a very windy beach, which means that some sand can be blown up. If you come from a country like Germany, England, Russia or Norway, this beach may seem like a tropical paradise, but if you come from a warm country, the cold wind may make you think twice before getting into the water. I went to this beach in the month of April, when the winter temperatures have already passed. The sun was quite strong, maybe not as strong as in Venezuela, but it was felt.

In spite of the intense sun, the wind made me feel cold, it was something strange for me because never before in my life had I felt cold at the same time that the sun was burning my skin. Maybe I went on a very windy day, as the weather here in Tenerife is very variable. However, in summer the wind may be less cold. But, despite this, I would highly recommend visiting this beach as it is well worth it. It is among the best beaches in Tenerife.
