Let's go with the last entry of this week, for me it has been a challenge to get here, but nevertheless I am happy to be part of this great project and share with such talented people.

One of the things I like about Music Zone is that I feel that it pushes me to give my best, to be attentive to details and to keep learning with the instruments.

This time the national feeling won and I bring you a song by Juan Vicente Torrealba and yes, you will say that I mention my mother again, but I owe my love for Venezuelan music to her. I remember that she would always turn on the radio and right after the National Anthem, programs where Venezuelan music was played would start, and it may sound cliché but that moment, while we were getting ready to go to school, smelling the coffee and listening to the music is something that forged in me a particular love for the music of my country.

My mom had a songbook, inside it there were many songs with which I practiced, but I think that in a way learning by reading ciphers didn't do me much good, because I have a hard time getting songs out by ear and I always have to resort to reading music to play with confidence, unless I learn the songs by heart.

This song is very nostalgic, it's about memories of love and that longing for what was once lived. That's how a lot of Venezuelan music is, full of nostalgia, love and melancholy, I think that's why I connect with it. Once one of my best friends told me that even if I had a smile my eyes always had a halo of melancholy. Maybe, it is possible.

In any case, enjoy this piece that I bring with much affection for you.

    You are loved.

    A hug
