Como en la mayoría de los concursos en los que soy parte del equipo promotor, me gusta participar aunque no vaya a optar por los premios. Pero es que realmente me gusta someterme a las mismas condiciones que los demás participantes. Además de que considero que mi participación puede convertirse en un estímulo para otros participantes.

Cuando hicimos la propuesta del concurso, yo sugerí que lo del "paisaje" no se limitara a fotos o dibujos, sino que fuera más allá y pudiera ser literario o musical. Así que yo no podía quedarme sin asumir yo mismo el reto, así decidí escribir esta glosa, tomando como punto de partida el coro de la canción "Caracas, Caracas", de Rafael Salazar, popularizada por el grupo Un Solo Pueblo.

Esta es mi participación para el Concurso Paisajes Venezolanos y aprovecho para invitar al poeta @lecumberre a sumarse a la parte literaria de este concurso.

As in most of the contests in which I am part of the promoter team, I like to participate even if I am not going to opt for the prizes. But I really like to submit myself to the same conditions as the other participants. Besides, I think that my participation can become a stimulus for other entrants.

When we made the proposal for the contest, I suggested that the "landscape" should not be limited to photos or drawings, but that it should go beyond that and could be literary or musical. So I could not stay without taking on the challenge myself, so I decided to write this gloss, taking as a starting point the chorus of the song "Caracas, Caracas", by Rafael Salazar, popularized by the group Un Solo Pueblo.

This is my entry for the Paisajes Venezolanos Contest and I take this opportunity to invite the poet @lecumberre to join the literary part of this contest.

Glosa al paisaje caraqueño

Caracas, caracas,
Yo te canto noche y día
Para que mejores tiempos
Te perfumen de alegría

No me canso de cantar
a esta, mi ciudad querida,
en la que vine a la vida
y ha visto mi transitar.
¡Verde y azul al mirar!
¡Guacamayas, guacharacas!
Al hablar de ella destacas
que este valle y sus montañas
tiene magia en sus entrañas,
Caracas, Caracas

El Ávila es tu horizonte
que te pinta en su verdor.
El sol te ofrenda el calor
que abriga a tu piedemonte.
Cantan turpiales, sinsontes,
sus variadas melodías.
Se forma la algarabía
y al igual que los vencejos,
los tordos, los azulejos
Yo te canto noche y día

También concreto eres tú,
asfalto, cemento y vigas,
que se mezclan como amigas
con palmas, ficus, bambú.
La gente en gran bululú
enfrenta los contratiempos
y cual si fueran pasatiempos
luchan con ansías bravías
¡para que para mejores días…!
¡para que mejores tiempos…!

Parque del Este, El Calvario
Los Caobos o Los Chorros,
son a la ciudad socorros,
que a la paz brinda santuarios.
Urbe y jardín tu escenario
compitiendo en armonía.
Y así anhela el alma mía
un futuro muy prolijo
en el que siempre tus hijos
te perfumen de alegría.

Glossa to the Caracas landscape

Caracas, caracas,
I sing to you night and day
So that better times
Perfume you with joy.

I do not tire of singing
To this, my beloved city,
where I came to life
And has seen my transit.
Green and blue to look at!
Guacamayas, guacharacas!
When speaking of it, you emphasize
that this valley and its mountains
has magic in its entrails,
Caracas, Caracas.

The Avila is your horizon
that paints you in its greenery.
The sun offers you the warmth
that shelters your foothills.
They sing turpiales, mockingbirds,
their varied melodies.
A hullabaloo is formed
and just like the swifts
the thrushes, the bluebirds
I sing to you night and day.

You are also concrete,
asphalt, cement and beams,
that mingle as friends
with palms, ficus, bamboo.
People in great crowd
face the setbacks
and as if they were hobbies
they fight with brave eagerness
so that for better days...!
so that better times...!

Parque del Este, El Calvario
Los Caobos or Los Chorros,
are to the city succors,
that to the peace offers sanctuaries.
Urbe and garden your scenery
competing in harmony.
And so my soul longs for
for a very neat future
in which always your children
perfume you with joy..
