In 1938 the first bolero was born, as a result of the joint work of the Cubans Bienvenido Julián Gutiérrez and Marcelino Guerra. This song became popular throughout the continent and has earned the honor of being one of the "10 most important songs in Cuban music".

A long time ago I wrote a post about one of the musical groups that marked me, as is Dimensión Latina.

At the time I was playing in nightclubs, I decided to do my version of this classic bolero, but I wanted to do it with the sound of the Dimensión Latina. The result is this one that I present to you today and that is my participation in Hive Open Mic, week 18.

The main instruments of this group were the trombones. I thought about the possibility of recording the trombones myself based on the accompaniment (midi), but unfortunately I only got this track with the full accompaniment, including my own choruses, so the version with real trombones will be left for another opportunity.

En 1938 nació el primer bolero, producto del trabajo en conjunto de los cubanos Bienvenido Julián Gutiérrez y Marcelino Guerra. Esta canción se popularizó por todo el continente y se ha ganado el honor de ser una de las "10 canciones más importantes de la música cubana".

Hace mucho tiempo escribí un post sibre una de las agrupaciones musicales que me marcó, como lo es Dimensión Latina.

En la época que tocaba en locales nocturnos, decidí hacer mi versión de este clásico bolero, pero quería hacerlo con el sonido de la Dimenasión Latina. El resultado es este que les presento hoy y que es mi participación en Hive Open Mic, semana 18.

La dotación principal de ese grupo eran los trombones. Pensé en la posibilidad de yo mismo grabar los trombones sobre la base del acompañamiento, pero lamentablemente solo conseguí esta pista (midi) con el acompañamiento completo, incluidos mis propios coros, así que la versión con trombones reales quedará para otra oportunidad.
