En estos días estaba escuchando la radio en mi teléfono y estaban sonando algunos clásicos del R&B. These days I was listening to the radio on my phone and some R&B classics were playing. It is strange thing that I listen to the radio, but we have no electricity in the community and there was nothing to do at night. One of those songs was "Just the Two of Us", a combination of Soul, Jazz, and R&B. I immediately put it on my list of songs to play. Whenever I hear a song I like, I include it in this list as a kind of music library. Some songs have a difficult execution, either because of the high notes, or the duration of the rhythmic patterns, so I classify them according to their degree of difficulty. This song was composed by Bill Withers, William Salter, and Ralph MacDonald. In the original recording, we can hear the voice of Bill Wither and the saxophonist Grover Washington, and it is in F minor, with some quite interesting harmonic progressions.

Algunos pensarán ¿Todavía se escucha la radio? La respuesta es sí. Para mí la radio es una alternativa económica que supera las barreras de la comunicación. Yo siempre me imagino un mundo post apocalíptico sin Internet, y allí la radio sigue brindando información sobre un ataque de zombis, o de extraterrestres. Aunque sería terrible vivir sin Internet, porque una vez que uno ha probado algo bueno, no quiere dejarlo. En algunas comunidades alejadas, el Internet no es una opción. La radio se encuentra presente en los rincones más apartados del planeta. En una emergencia, la radio llega al rescate de la información. Y por supuesto, si hay un corte de un servicio eléctrico como a mí sucedió, y seguramente a otras personas les ha pasado, es una oportunidad para escuchar buena música y distraerse.

Some will think, are you still listening to the radio? The answer is yes. For me, radio is an economic alternative that overcomes the barriers to communication. I always imagine a post-apocalyptic world without the Internet, and there the radio continues to provide information about an attack by zombies or aliens. Although it would be terrible to live without the Internet because once you have tried something good, you do not want to leave it. In some remote communities, the Internet is not an option. Radio is present in the most remote corners of the planet. In an emergency, the radio comes to the rescue of information. And of course, if there is a power outage like it happened to me, and surely it has happened to other people, it is an opportunity to listen to good music and distract yourself.
