La Vie en rose - Édith Piaf (Cover) [SPA/ENG]

Recuerdo que estaba viendo la película Rescatando al Soldado Ryan cuando escuche por primera vez «La Vie en Rose», que en español significa La Vida es Rosa. Es una escena donde había un fonógrafo y sonaba esta pieza magistralmente en la voz de la cantante francesa Édith Piaf. Ella escribió la letra y Louis Gugliemi puso la melodía en 1946 y fue un sencillo parte del álbum Chansons parisiennes. Mack David, un letrista y compositor de canciones norteamericano, realizó una versión en inglés. Recientemente, la escuché en la película Nace una estrella, y quedé encantado con la interpretación de Lady Gaga, quien protagoniza junto a Bradley Cooper. La canción fue compuesta en tiempo de postguerra, al escucharla causa nostalgia, sin embargo, la letra al traducirla puedo notar su carácter romántico. Pienso que la vida en rosa significa que la felicidad y el amor iluminan la vida, mientras se apagan los problemas y las penas.

I remember watching the movie Saving Private Ryan when I first heard "La Vie en Rose", which in English means Life is Pink. It is a scene where there was a phonograph and this piece sounded masterfully in the voice of the French singer Édith Piaf. She wrote the lyrics and Louis Gugliemi wrote the melody in 1946 and it was a single from the Chansons Parisiennes album. Mack David, an American lyricist, and songwriter performed an English version. Recently, I heard her in the movie A Star Is Born, and I was enchanted by the performance of Lady Gaga, in whom she stars alongside Bradley Cooper. The song was composed in post-war times, and listening to it causes nostalgia, however, when translating the lyrics I can notice its romantic character. I think that life in pink means that happiness and love light up life, while problems and sorrows go out.

En la universidad vi una materia que se llama Métodos de enseñanza de la Música, y luego con la Fundación Bigott realicé un curso en tradición en Línea. Una escena que me conmovió totalmente, y me recordó sobre esa conexión con los colores. At the university I saw a subject called Music Teaching Methods, and then with the Bigott Foundation, I took a course in online tradition. One of the things I like about music is that it can be taught in different ways. There is a psychology of color, and this is linked to music. When I listen to a song and close my eyes, I think of colors and landscapes. Music can convey feelings, and thoughts, and inspire us to act. That special connection with colors means that there are methods to teach music with colors. There is a movie that I love called Mr. Holland's Opus or Triumph to Life; there is a scene where the protagonist composes a song with which he would close his career, the fact is that in the final part he places lights like a traffic light so that his deaf-mute son could visualize the music they played. A scene that totally moved me, and reminded me of that connection with colors.
