In photographic recordings of the working progress of a construction site, I usually feature some drone shots, both still and video.
In the last recording of the day, I miscalculated the rollback of the shot and the little Mini collided with the branches of a pine tree at a height of about 8 metres. I immediately went to the site manager to ask for help if someone could help me up the tree. A worker by the name of Amar kindly told me that he would take care of the rescue of the device.
He climbed the pine tree, shook the branches he could reach and then used a long pole to bring the drone down. It was the only chance, and so he did. In the tension of the moment I hadn't realised that the camera was still recording, and when I picked up my poor Mini from the ground I simply switched it off.
The surprise was when I downloaded the card back home and found 18 minutes of footage of the rescue process and the rescuer in the foreground.
The drone is still flying, taking pictures, but I don't know why, the video capture automatisms don't work. I am aware that I have to buy a new Mini, this time it will be the 3rd one. The first one became disabled after the accident.
Thanks for stopping by.
