Hive Open Mic Week 107 | This Is Me | Cover

It's a big feat to be brave as this doesn't come naturally to everyone. Sometimes, those who seem timid have a whole lot of bravery in them that they themselves are oblivious of or yet to unlock. It just takes them realising that they are bigger than what they think or have been told in order to shine bright.

This Is Me kept ringing in mind when I saw the theme of the week. Those words came naturally to me many years ago because I was in total acceptance of my persona. Even when people tried to make me feel less, I was brave to know that I am not what they say or think. It takes a brave mind to love yourself as you are as well as love others.

There are two songs with the title This Is Me that I really like and I was going to sing the one from the The Greatest Showman movie but @khaleesii beat me to it with her beautiful rendition yesterday.

I decided to go with the second This Is Me song which is also from a movie. I bet all 90's/Disney babies know this song from the movie Camp Rock.

I know every week since my participation in Open Mic, I come and say "this is my favorite song", but honestly, this is my favorite song, no jokes. It's one of those songs that stays with you years after and I really love how bold and brave it made me feel when I first heard it.

Es una gran hazaña ser valiente, ya que esto no es algo natural para todos. A veces, aquellos que parecen tímidos tienen mucha valentía de la que ellos mismos no se dan cuenta o aún no la han desbloqueado. Solo hace falta que se den cuenta de que son más grandes de lo que piensan o de lo que les han dicho para brillar.

This Is Me seguía sonando en mi mente cuando vi el tema de la semana. Esas palabras me vinieron naturalmente hace muchos años porque estaba en total aceptación de mi persona. Incluso cuando la gente trató de hacerme sentir menos, fui valiente al saber que no soy lo que dicen o piensan. Se necesita una mente valiente para amarse a uno mismo tal como es y amar a los demás.

Hay dos canciones con el título This Is Me que realmente me gustan e iba a cantar la de la película The Greatest Showman pero @khaleesii me ganó con su hermosa interpretación ayer.

Decidí ir con la segunda canción de This Is Me, que también es de una película. Apuesto a que todos los bebés de los 90/Disney conocen esta canción de la película Camp Rock.

Sé que todas las semanas desde mi participación en Open Mic vengo y digo "esta es mi canción favorita", pero honestamente, esta es mi canción favorita, no es broma. Es una de esas canciones que se quedan contigo años después y realmente me encanta lo audaz y valiente que me hizo sentir cuando la escuché por primera vez.
