How Hive and Bitcoin changed our lives and why you should join us (Untangled Knots Podcast #5 )

For IRL friends: You may know that I've been involved in a blockchain based social media platform. Well, it's called Hive (formerly Steem/steemit) and if you see my links from peaked.com (front end) or 3speak.online (video platform), these are also part of the Hive blockchain and network.

I've met some friends at Hive who will likely be friends for life and I've watched it the wild west to a really wonderful community of people who want to solve problems and create opportunities. There were many battles between spammers/scammers and idealists and in the end, the idealists won. We had a corrupt CEO, so the community disposed of him, and the company itself so now we are a decentralized network that is run by the community itself. It evolves and grows based on the will of the community.

Now we are working on building communities within Hive that make it easy to find your niche right away and make you feel like part of a family when you make a little effort to connect.

The community I am running is called Hive Cross Culture! which is for all bilingual material and posts about culture or language. I am also active in Natural Medicine which is a large group that shares posts about everything from homesteading to natural remedies to yoga to mindfullness, and the Abundance Tribe which focuses on building an abundance on and off the Hive chain, providing a kind of UBI to users who actively contribute to others and share a similar abundance mentality. We are building out communities for different hobbies and interests, localities and other topics of interest. My friend @namiks runs and I've also gotten to know the Indonesia community through my 30 day experiment to see how much Indonesian I could learn in an hour a day.

This podcast is meant to show you how Hive has impacted our lives and invite you to join if you feel at all interested.
