Teníamos una peculiaridad para el evento de UFC280, principalmente que sería en la mañana, por lo cual no tendríamos que madrugar, como suele ser, para ver las peleas estelares. Esta ocasión, nos dejaba una tarde soñada, todo el main card, empezaría a las 2 de la tarde. Se podía sentir mucha tensión en las redes, especialmente en twitter, donde muchos peleadores se dejan sentir y los comentaristas van dejando impresiones. Sean O'Malley gran protagonista, los espectadores deseaban verlo contra Petr Yan. Charles Oliveira como villano en la batalla estelar, teniendo como favorito a Islam Makhachev ante su público en Abu Dabi.

El evento comienza con Rosa enfrentando a Lansberg, dos mujeres que encendieron las llamas y calentaban lo que se venía para hoy. Luego tendríamos al gran prospecto, me refiero a Muhammad Mokaev, joven de 22 años, que ha ganado mucha notoriedad y tenía por delante un reto importante. Hay mucho que mejorar, pero me voy contento, claramente existe un futuro importante para este chicho y dará problemas en la categoría de las 125 libras. Las batallas preliminares estuvieron muy buenas, muchas interesantes, pero la que cerraba, sin lugar a dudas, se trataba de una pelea esperada, Sean Brady vs Belal Muhammad, un combate increíble.

This time, we had a dream afternoon, all the main card, would start at 2 pm. You could feel a lot of tension in the networks, especially on twitter, where many fighters are felt and commentators are leaving impressions. Sean O'Malley was a great protagonist, the spectators wanted to see him against Petr Yan. Charles Oliveira as villain in the main fight, having Islam Makhachev as favorite in front of his audience in Abu Dhabi.

Las últimas 4 batallas de las estelares, resultaban ser muy atractivas y de gran nivel. Pues no defraudaron, Beneil Dariush contra Mateusz Gamrot fue un peleón, ambos se anularon en el suelo, dejando una clase de grappling asombrosa. Terminaron optando por la pelea de pie, donde Beneil Dariush fue más certero, sorprendiéndome muchísimo, jamás espere este desempeño, rotundamente veía ganando a Gamrot y no fue lo que paso. Dariush está para una pelea titular, lleva 8 victorias consecutivas y ya es momento de ofrecerle la gran oportunidad del cinturón.

Después llegaba un gran momento, la hora de la verdad para "Sugar" Sean O'Malley, hombre que llamaban sobrevalorado y que no tenía ninguna chance contra Petr Yan. ¡Sorpresa! Sean O'Malley termina con una enorme actuación y manda a callar muchas bocas. Pelea muy cerrada, veredicto final un poco controversial, comentan que hubo robo, sinceramente no pienso lo mismo, ante cualquier batalla cerrada, todo puede pasar y nunca puedes dejarle una pelea a los jueces. Pelea de la noche, digna de mirar nuevamente y candidata a batalla del año.

No hay mucho que hablar en la pelea coestelar, Aljamain Sterling aplasto a TJ Dillashaw y le gano por TKO. Por último, para cerrar el gran evento, lo que todos querían ver, Islam Makhachev contra Charles Oliveira, un combate que lucia sumamente cerrado en la antesala y que termino siendo muy disparejo. Hubo un claro ganador, Islam Makhachev demostró todo su valor y dio un gran golpe en la mesa. El team Khabib tenía razón, Islam iba a someter a Oliveira y sería el nuevo rey de la división de peso ligero. Gran performance, lo veo como un campeón muy dominante y ahora mismo no encuentro un rival que pueda vencerlo. Se cumplieron las expectativas, puedo decir que el evento de UFC280 es lo mejor del año y eso que aún vienen 2 eventos más que serán increíbles. La UFC está mejor que nunca.

Dariush is ready for a title fight, he has 8 consecutive victories and it is time to offer him the great opportunity of the belt.

Then came a big moment, the moment of truth for "Sugar" Sean O'Malley, a man who was called overrated and had no chance against Petr Yan. Surprise! Sean O'Malley finishes with a huge performance and shuts a lot of mouths. Very close fight, final verdict a little controversial, they comment that there was a robbery, honestly I don't think so, in any close fight, anything can happen and you can never leave a fight to the judges. Fight of the night, worthy to watch again and candidate for fight of the year.

Finally, to close the big event, what everyone wanted to see, Islam Makhachev vs. Charles Oliveira, a fight that looked very close in the pre-fight and ended up being very close. There was a clear winner, Islam Makhachev showed all his courage and gave a big blow on the table. Great performance, I see him as a very dominant champion and right now I can't find an opponent who can beat him. Expectations were met, I can say that the UFC280 event is the best of the year and that still come 2 more events that will be incredible. The UFC is better than ever.
