Maracaibo around the world [ENG/ESP]

Once again I will alter the natural line of time in my blog, to go back to November 18, one of the most important days for the people of Zulia.

Every November 18 is celebrated the day of the Virgin of Chiquinquirá, who appeared on the shores of Lake Maracaibo on a small wooden board, which a woman who was washing in the lake found and took it home.

She was going to use it in the kitchen, when from the wooden board flashes of brightness came out of it. The Virgin of Chiquinquira was portrayed on that little old wooden board, which is now in the basilica of Maracaibo.

Believers or not, November is the beginning of the fair and Christmas season in Zulia and now in the world. Wherever a Maracucho is, his faith and tradition will be transferred.

Thanks to that, I was able to enjoy an event like this from the other side of the country to honor our virgin, accompanied by gaitas and delicious food from Zulia.

It's important to listen to gaitas and not get the famous lump in your throat and the heart jumping out of your chest from so much pride and love for our homeland.
I don't know if @Arlettemsalase is a believer or not, but it's impossible not to get nostalgic and feel like going back to Maracaibo. I hope on my December vacations to get to know it and the hivers of the beloved sun.

Una vez más alteraré la línea natural del tiempo en mi blog, para retroceder al 18 de noviembre, uno de los días más importantes para los zulianos.

Cada 18 de noviembre se celebra el día de la Virgen de Chiquinquirá, quien apareció a orillas del lago de Maracaibo en una tablita de madera, el cual una mujer que estaba lavando en el lago lo encontró y se lo llevó a su casa.

Ella la iba a usar en la cocina, cuando de la tabla de madera salieron destellos de brillo ¡Milagro! La virgen de Chiquinquirá se retrató en aquella tablita de vieja de madera, la cual ahora se encuentra en la basílica de Maracaibo.

Creyentes o no, con el mes de noviembre se inicia la temporada de feria y navidad en el Zulia y ahora en el mundo. En cualquier parte donde esté un maracucho se trasladará su fe y tradición.

Gracias a eso, fue como yo desde el otro lado del país pude disfrutar de un evento como este para honrar a nuestra virgen, acompañadas de gaitas y comidas deliciosas del Zulia.

Es importante escuchar gaitas y que no se te haga el famoso nudo en la garganta y el corazón que se salta del pecho de tanto orgullo y amor por nuestro terruño.
No sé si @Arlettemsalase sea creyente o no, pero es imposible no ponerse nostálgico y sentir ganas de regresar a Maracaibo. Espero en mis vacaciones de diciembre poder conocerla y a los hivers del sol amado.
