    The llanero joropo

Greetings, hive community, I join the initiative organized by @elemarg25, which is to promote a traditional dance of your country, an initiative that seems to me very successful for three reasons; it is an excuse to dance our passions; it allows to make life in hive communities; and promotes the culture of a country. If you are interested in participating here are the rules.

Since the mid 1700's in Venezuela, the joropo is a traditional form of music and dance that identifies us, an emblematic symbol of our national identity.

In its origins it is said that it comes from "fandango", a term of Spanish origin that referred to parties and social family gatherings, but that the Venezuelan peasant replaced by "joropo", hence the meaning of dance or party as the main characteristic.

It is a dance that combines several cultures in one; in the rhythmic part of the melody, in the use of the harp and the cuatro, and in the literary versification, the European influence is clearly evident. The African presence is identified in the independent melody and the indigenous in the accompaniment of the maracas.

For the present times the joropo is more than a musical style, it is a dance, a dance; it represents a popular celebration in the Colombian-Venezuelan plains, a dance that amuses and that, as for the geographical aspect, each region gives it its own essence, attaches steps and figures to it, but without leaving those figures that identify them.
