Hello to all music lovers. Today I would like to share a piece I performed during office work. The name of the song is "You can help me, sir". The composition of this song, whose lyrics belong to one of the ancient poets, Pir Sultan Abdal, is anonymous, that is, unknown.

The word "sir" in the title symbolizes God here. The feeling that dominates the whole song is nothing but a prayer to God.

In addition, the songwriter briefly talks about his troubles. He conveys the heavy feeling of loneliness and helplessness he is in very well.

Although the words are very old words 500 years old, they can still be understood today. Since it comes from the tradition of folk poetry, the fact that there have been very few differences over the years still makes it easy to understand today. Despite this, I tried to fix some misunderstandings while translating from Turkish to English, and I will add the equivalents of the words in both languages below.

I would also like to talk about the instrument I use. Here, I use selpe baglama, another derivative of baglama, one of the main instruments of traditional Turkish music. Selpe means playing by hand without using any apparatus such as picks. For this reason, wire coordination also presents some differences. For example, thick steel wires with a diameter of 0.50 mm are also used in normal binding, while thin steel wires between 0.18-0.30 mm in diameter are preferred for bagel binding. For this reason, we get a high-pitched tone.

Tüm müzikseverlere merhaba. Bugün ofis çalışması sırasında icra ettiğim bir eseri paylaşmak istiyorum. Şarkının ismi "Bana medet senden olur efendim". Sözü çok eski ozanlardan Pir Sultan Abdal'a ait olan bu şarkının bestesi ise anonim, yani bilinmiyor.

Başlıkta adı geçen efendim sözü burada tanrıyı sembolize ediyor. Şarkının tamamına hakim olan duygu da tanrıya yakarıştan başka bir şey değil.

Ayrıca söz yazarı çektiği sıkıntılardan da kısaca bahsediyor. İçinde olduğu ağır yalnızlık ve çaresizlik duygusunu oldukça iyi bir biçimde bize aktarıyor.

Sözler 500 yıllık çok eski sözler olmasına rağmen bugün hala anlaşılabiliyor. Halk şiiri geleneğinden geldiği için yıllar içinde çok az farklılıklar oluşması bugün hala rahat anlamamızı sağlıyor. Buna rağmen Türkçe'den İngilizce'ye çevrilirken oluşan bazı anlam bozukluklarını gidermeye çalıştım ve sözlerin her iki dildeki karşılıklarını bu şekilde aşağıya ekleyeceğim.

Kullandığım enstrümandan da bahsetmek isterim. Geleneksel Türk müziğinin ana enstrümanlarından bağlamanın bir başka türevi olan şelpe bağlaması kullanıyorum burada. Şelpe, pena gibi herhangi bir aparat kullanmadan elle çalma anlamına geliyor. Tel koordinasyonu da bu sebeple birtakım farklılıklar arz ediyor. Örneğin, normal bağlamada 0,50 mm çaplarındaki kalın çelik teller de kullanılırken şelpe bağlamasında 0,18-0,30 mm çapları arasındaki ince çelik teller tercih ediliyor. Bu sebeple de tiz bir ses tonu elde ediyoruz.
