Learning how to forgive

We need not get mad when someone has done something wrong to us. This may seem impossible because the natural thing to do is to get angry at the wrong of other people.

In physics we learn that for every action, there's opposite equal reaction.

When someone does something good to you, you're likely to respond by doing good to that one. But there are actions that are opposite. For instance when someone spanks you, you may react by spanking the person, maybe in a harder way. There are hot tempered people who react very violently to actions of others towards them.

Christians should not behave that way. In fact, a Christian should be happy when someone offends him. If someone sinned against you, it's an opportunity from God for you to forgive. Mt. 6:14-15 says that if we forgive others, God will forgive us too, and if we don't forgive, our heavenly Father will not forgive us of our trespasses. God wants us to forgive others, so that he will forgive us also.

Mt. 5:7 says that those that are merciful will obtain mercy. Our heavenly Father allows someone to offend us so that we can learn how to forgive, for him to forgive us of our sins because none is righteous according to Eccl. 7:20. It was only our Lord Jesus Christ that lived on earth without commiting sin. If we know the benefit of forgiving, it will be easy for us to learn how to forgive.
