What is baptism in the Bible? (Part 1 of 3)
What I understand from this Brother Eli's video:

There's nothing wrong in going to River Jordan to be baptized if one can afford it. Mark 10:39 makes it clear that our Lord Jesus Christ was baptized as an example. It was an example because Jesus needed no baptism as such. This is because baptism is the washing away of sin. It's also a moment of repentance. Jesus had no sin that needed to be washed away as stated in 1Peter 2:22.
Baptism is a commandment of God which Acts 2:38 states that it was designed for the remission of sin. Acts 22:16 made the same proclamation for Paul who was previously called Saul.
It's wrong for some people to interpret baptism to mean a ceremony for the naming of a baby. Those who were baptized in the Bible were not given new names.
1Peter 2:21 states that Christ left an example for Christians, especially on religious life. In Mark 10:39, Jesus advised his disciples to be baptized with the type of baptism he had. It's the type of baptism, not the place of his baptism.
