Was Jesus Christ crucified on a stake or on a cross? (Part 1 of 2)

The original Greek word is stauros which means stake or pole. Some verses of the scripture say he was crucified on a cross which really does not contradict anything.

There's no contradiction in the word of God as Prov. 9:8-9 state that there's no froward or perverse in the word of God. The word of God is plain. Prov. 1:23 gives a condition for us to understand the word of God. That condition is that we should follow his commandment, and turn at his reproof for us to receive his spirit. If we obey God, he will make his word plain to us.
