There's no need to insist that baptism should be done in Jordan. This is because John the Baptist did not baptize only in River Jordan. In John 3:23, we see that he equally baptized in Aenon near Salim.

It does not make sense to believe that Jordan alone is where baptism should take place. We can see that it is not realistic to expect everyone to travel to Jordan for baptism. Economically, it's not feasible because the poor people of the world cannot afford the cost of going to Jordan. This will prevent them from getting salvation since baptism is a step to salvation as stated in 1Peter 3:21.

When Jesus commanded his disciples to be baptized, he was talking of the manner of his baptism, and not the place or location of the baptism.

The book of Acts 8:36-38 also points out that the eunuch was baptized by Philip on his way back to Ethiopia from Jerusalem.

The conclusion of the matter is that baptism can be done in any body of water.
