    About :

Luke was persuaded in his heart to write or, narrate the events surrounding Jesus to a fellow gentile, Theophilus. He was moved to write by the inspiration of the Lord as pointed out in 1Cor. 14:37.

Matthew as an Apostles wrote about Christ, not that he saw the event but, he heard the story from Peter, James and John. The presentation of Matthew wasn't denied but, was declared by Peter who witnessed it in 2Pet. 1:17-18.

Peter, with the other two Apostles heard the voice of God at the mountain, and he wrote about it. They could write the things they've seen or heard.

Luke heard and investigated the story of Jesus before writing, and this enabled him to write a complete Gospel.
