Welcome to Day 14 of the #ThreeStepsNoExcuses journey with me, Rob Willmann.
Today is Day 14. Two weeks! The commitment to this is epic. Really glad you have decided to continue on this journey. :)

Did you notice that I changed the hashtag from the NUMBER 3 to Three? That's because some front ends (such as #proofofbrain) wont accept hashtags that start with a number. I'd hate for those folks to lose out on the ability to use a hashtag. I'll use the following going forward:

I'm super excited at how much my @ThreeSteps account has grown in Hive, CTP, LEO, and POB. We'll discuss that below.

That's it. Easy peasy. Lots to learn today, so let's jump in!

1. Watch CTP's Video "Golden Rule" of Email Marketing

Login to Click Track Profit, and locate the "Golden Rule" of Email Marketing video.

This is a phenomenal module, which explains the difference between pushing and pulling when it comes to marketing.

You engage and PULL people toward you. I used the word PEOPLE for a reason. When writing, imagine an actual person on your email list. Treat the email you're writing like it's going directly to them, because it is.

People buy from those they know, like, and trust us.

How do you make that happen?

Engage! Pull more than Push. It works. Examples:

• Inform people that they can follow you. Do this in your indoctrination email that let's them know what you're about.
• Ask folks to engage with you on Social Platforms. (FYI, Follow me on Hive: @RobWillmann and @ThreeSteps )
• Request that folks visit your blog. Engage and write comments.

For the majority of the time, focus on relationship building. Then on the other days, you occasionally write a 'push' email to let people know about your offer.

75% pull, 25% push.

Realistically, you can push an offer after 3 or 4 other emails that are relationship building. That makes it more of a 4:1 or even 5:1 ratio. Still profitable, because people trust you.

Time for List Nerds. :)

2. Write & Test "Pull" Emails on w/ ListNerds.

I love using ListNerds as my test bed. It's a great, easy to use mailer, and my responses are improving. I also use a couple of other mailers that I've chosen after testing.

Since this steps is about writing emails that pull, I went back and reviewed one of my emails that asks people to come discover my journey about #ThreeStepsNoExcuses. Here's an example. It's more of a hybrid and is a pull and push if you will. It works. :)
