    Reddit thread posted below:

    FACTS:
The weekend of Nov 19th people started noticing https://www.balenciaga.com/en-us featured some unsavory images of small children posed with teddy bears wearing BDSM fetish gear.

The images while no longer displayed on the homepage, the original full size image links are all still accessible and live, being hosted by Kering, Balenciaga's parent company.

There are more images that were posted to instagram that I can only find from tabloids now:

There was an advertisement on the balenciaga.com homepage for an adidas purse at the same time the BDSM teddy bears were

In the purse ad, text from a court docket is legible on one of the papers. This is that court docket is UNITED STATES v. MICHAEL WILLIAMS which is a lawsuit regarding freedom of speech and the solicitation of CP. "Williams was convicted in federal district court of "pandering" (promoting) child pornography."

Balenciaga deleted all posts from their Instagram and posted an apology on their story. They claim to be taking legal action against "the parties responsible for creating the set"

The photographer for the pics featuring the children is Gabriele Galimberti, famous for his Toy Stories series where he photographs children with their favorite toys. He has not posted an apology, but rather a statement:

Following the hundreds of hate mails and messages I received as a result of the photos I took for the Balenciaga campaign, I feel compelled to make this statement. I am not in a position to comment Balenciaga’s choices, but I must stress that I was not entitled in whatsoever manner to neither chose the products, nor the models, nor the combination of the same. As a photographer, I was only and solely requested to lit the given scene, and take the shots according to my signature style. As usual for a commercial shooting, the direction of the campaign and the choice of the objects displayed are not in the hands of the photographer. I suspect that any person prone to pedophilia searches on the web and has unfortunately a too easy access to images completely different than mine, absolutely explicit in their awful content. Lynching like these are addressed against wrong targets, and distract from the real problem, and criminals. Also, I have no connection with the photo where a Supreme Court document appears. That one was taken in another set by other people and and was falsely associated with my photos. Gabriele Galimberti

    SYMBOLISM / OTHER OBSERVATIONS
Warning: from here on out things get very "conspiracy-y" but that's why we're here right?

From the adidas ad campaign that was on the homepage at the same time there is another photo being discussed that has some book spines visible. The top book in the stack is Michael Borremans' Fire from the Sun. The book "features toddlers engaged in playful but mysterious acts with sinister overtones and insinuations of violence." Basically a bunch of babies covered in blood. The third book in the stack is The Cremaster Cycle "Its conceptual departure point is the male cremaster muscle, the primary function of which is to raise and lower the testes in response to temperature. The project is filled with anatomical allusions to the position of the reproductive organs during the embryonic process of sexual differentiation."

Some noted that one of the teddys has a padlock around its neck, and the model in another ad that was on the homepage at the same time, is holding a key.

Some claim the shape of the black fuzzy bed in the first picture is the girl lover's symbol

Some have noted the white rabbit in most of the photos

Some said in the photo from instagram where she is on the brown chair there is a spiral symbol on the drawing on the nightstand

    DEVILS
Some notice in the third photo (with the boy in the red shoes) the tape on the roll says BAAL and that's not how BALENCIAGA is spelled. The tape on the chair reflects the spelling correctly potentially indicating an editorial choice

Some notice in that same photo there is a drawing of the devil hanging up to the right

Some notice this photo from the adidas portion of the ad campaign has a photo framed that looks like the devil
