Thursday came and brought the second edition of this proposal to bring demos of the beats or songs I've been working on my DAW.
This time I share with you the first mix where I started to feel that I was achieving a qualitative better sound than my previous attempts.

This beat is about 2 years old but I composed it looping it with my guitar. When the pandemic started it was the first song I started working on. And then I left it for about 1 year because I suffered from the problem of wanting to start new ideas all the time and leaving unfinished the ones I had started (I still don't get over it but this weekly post will hopefully help me).
The name PELOTA comes from the lyrics but I still don't dare to publish the version with vocals because mixing vocals seems to me even more difficult than doing the instrumental. But surely in a few weeks I will be able to go back on some beats (like this one) and upload the versions with vocals.
Going back to the instrumental it comes from a super simple idea because
as I said I composed it looping it with my guitar and my pedal doesn't offer me many chances. So it's pretty straightforward on a base of two repeating chords, a bass line with two parts and a guitar riff in the chorus. I programmed the drums myself and it's something that took me a long time (that's why I usually use loops to solve) but I'm happy with it. Maybe I still suffer with the volume and hi hat frequencies but I've let it go.
Lastly, the one sampled at the beginning and in the bridge is Julio Cortazar talking about the cronopios. This is because the theme of the lyric is about the mystery of how poetry or words untie knots in our soul.
Without further to add, I hope you enjoy!
    Thanks for stopping by.
