Pirate Pinball On Steam Gaming. Black Flaggers. Pinball Wicked

Recently I bought a gaming computer. I'm really not a gamer, but thought it would be powerful enough to handle all the exchange windows I have open when trading. I figured now that I have a gaming computer it might be a good time to take up gaming again or at the very least, see what gaming has to offer in 2021.

I signed up on Steam gaming and bought a couple games. I really didn't know where to start. I bought some childhood favorites that had been ported to PC gaming, I'll be posting about them in the future.

One of my favorite PC or Windows games was always Space Cadet 3D Pinball. This was a really fun pinball game that came with Windows95 back in the day. Although I did find some online versions that play in a browser window, I couldn't find one I could actually install on my computer. After searching around on Steam for a suitable replacement I decided on Pinball Wicked.

I don't think Pinball Wicked was the intended name, however, that's how it is listed on Steam. I was calling it Pirate Pinball. I'm guessing Black Flaggers was the intended title. The name Black Flagger appears in different parts of the game. Maybe a copyright issue or something.

So it looks like Pinball Wicked is my first game review.

IDK, ever since Space Cadet 3D pinball on Windows95 I've always liked computer pinball emulators. I always find it surprising how a game can replicate the movements of the pinballs. The aim and skill of a fun vintage physical game like a pinball machine replicated into a virtual digital game on your computer.

Pinball Wicked is a great example of this. The aiming and ball movements seem pretty accurate. I just started playing this game last week but you can see some of the shots I've already begun mastering like the skull shot from a stopped ball by the flipper. I also figured out how to stop the ball as it shoots out of the sharks mouth.

I've got a long way to go with this game and so much more to figure out. It's been a really long time since I've played any PC games. My high score so far is just over 1,800,000. I think I'm currently ranked in the 500s on Steam for this game. I tried to show it at the end of the video but for some reason I wasn't connected to Steam when I tried to show it. Naturally, stuff like that only happens when you're recording.

For now I've got the basics of this game covered. For a pinball game though there's a lot going on. I'm still trying to figure out how to finish the different missions that come about as you play. How do I defeat the mutiny? How do you collect gold? How to beat the pirate hunters?

Like many modern games, documentation seems to be lacking. I'm figuring a lot of this out by trial and error. For now, I'm just practicing my shots and learning as I go. Each game I play I learn a little more. So far I've figured out how to get multi-ball plays with the skull shots and how extra balls work. The gold chest seems easy enough to get in by hitting the two bumpers that protect it. Shooting the shark in the mouth seems to activate different missions.

So the game was $9.99 on Steam. I bought it last week and so far have 5.4 hours on it. For the price I think this is a really fun entertaining game. If you like pinball machine emulators, this one is a winner in my eyes.
