We only need to look at where the developers are focused to see how things changed. For the first year of Hive, the attention was on optimization. Now we see things such as HBD peg and smart contracts entering the discussion while being worked upon.
In this video I discuss how things are a lot different than they were even 7 months ago. No longer are we "trying to make things work" but looking at things which will add utility to the blockchain.
