Hive Music Festival - Week 5, Round 1 - Evanescence - Bring Me To Life (Acoustic Cover)

HIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL WEEK 5 ROUND 1

It is my pleasure to welcome you all to my entry for this weeks HMF!

Some of you may recall my previous entries to the last 4 weeks of Hive Music Festival, which were all guitar solos! Now, that is my main style of playing the guitar - lead! I sure do love putting on a blues or rock backing track and just letting my mind (and fingers!) run away! It feels so great :) I do actually have many of my own songs too - I acheived a life goal this year and released my own album!:) anyway, enough about then, more about now!

For this week I am playing an old school Alterntive Rock / Nu Metal / Emo song by Evanescence! This is their most well known song, Bring Me To Life!

For those of you who know me, you know I love the nostalgia! I can't believe this was almost 20 years ago!!! Woah... time flies. OR, maybe I am finally getting old! I prefer the term wise and knowlegable ;)

This is a beautiful song, and the lead singer Amy Lee is brilliant. They have released many other awesome songs too, but 'Bring Me To Life' and 'My Immortal' are by far the most well know. I may cover 'My Immortal' next! :)

This is all an acoustic cover in my own style. As I mentioned earlier, playing lead guitar is my main focus, but I sure do love the challenge of playing and singing together. I have been enjoying playing and singing a lot more over the past few years, and didn't have any confidence in the past to try - so it really is fun to improve! I want to improve my rhythm guitar and singing over the next year :) it is always nice to set goals!

For those of you who were wanting guitar solos from me this week, don't worry, there are plenty more to come! I am actually writing a solo at the moment as I am in a 'shred collab' coming soon in the next months!
