As you all know, I have been going to the nature reserve most days since summer began. The reserve has been closed now for the last week and a half due to fires. Probably because we've had no rain. But, I still go there every few days to check if it's open yet.
This morning, I was not able to get in as usual so I rode along the outside and looked at the birds as I usually do. Next I see a couple of swans who are paddling their way through the floating foliage and I decided to take some video.
I would never start the camera and zoom in and take a look at just ducks. Although I like ducks, they're not so special that I would want to film them unless they're doing something cool.
Well today they were doing something cool, but they weren't ducks at all. They were in Anhinga. Not only that, they were baby Anhinga. I saw the mother slightly elevated on a little Island, I'm not sure if that ended up to be visible on the video or not but she was there, watching all her little Anhingalings practicing their ability to dive underwater and zoom around after all the little fish in order to catch their meal.
If you watch the video, you will see that I have highlighted some that are going down, timing them, and watching them come up again. He's a really incredible creatures, and one of my favorites.
Thank you, as usual, for stopping by and seeing what's happening in my brain.
