You're not supposed to see it. When web3 hits critical mass, you won't even know you're using it. Most will simply be able to do stuff they couldn't before, & account/digital asset ownership will be seen as common place.

These attacks on Web 3 are ignorant, but are they malicious?

Is Jack Dorsey preparing the turf for his product by bashing every project out there? There is a chance that Elon Musk does not know what he is talking about but Jack is deeply involved in Web 2 and he is claiming that he is building a Web 3 app.

The good thing about it is that people are waking up and seeing what is going on. It is decentralized and censorship resistant or it is not. When regulators come to the door will they be able to influence, ban, regulate it?

Hive was created from forking out VC pre-mine and making a DAO that can finance development without someone investing and owning 30% of a governance token.

Web 3 is the ownership of the accounts on a decentralized layer outside of the platforms where platforms can't take that away from you.

If a platform claims it is Web 3 and decentralized, but they can take your account away, then it is just Web 2 with maybe some tokens you can get. It could be called Web 2.5, but it can't be Web 3.
