Desde hace algún tiempo, viendo algunos Gameplays, le he tomado mucho amor a los juegos de mazmorras. Sin embargo, al menos los que yo quiero jugar están para PC. Entonces, buscando alguna alternativa para teléfonos, navegué en la Playstore para buscar algo adictivo e interesante. ¡Algo nuevo! Últimamente me he limitado a una cierta cantidad de videojuegos prometiéndome a mi mismo culminarlos, entre ellos mucho de los que han visto en mis anteriores contenidos.

Así que, aprovechando algo del espacio de almacenamiento que le queda a mi Smartphone, decidì probar Soul Knight, un jueguito de estos roguelite que encantan por su belleza de pixel art y su mecánica de mazmorras aleatorias. Y la verdad, no pensé que el jueguito me gustara tanto.

For some time now, watching some Gameplays, I have taken a lot of love for dungeon games. However, at least the ones I want to play are on PC. So, looking for some alternative for phones, I browsed the Playstore to look for something addictive and interesting. Something new! Lately I have limited myself to a certain number of video games, promising myself to complete them, including many of those you have seen in my previous content.

So, taking advantage of some of the storage space that my Smartphone has left, I decided to try Soul Knight, a little game of these roguelites that enchants for its beauty of pixel art and its random dungeon mechanics. And the truth is, I didn't think I liked the little game so much.

Los juegos para Smartphone, en comparación con los de consolas o PC, no parecen gran cosa. Sin embargo, hay títulos que aunque parezcan sencillos pueden darnos una mejor experiencia, o sea: entretenernos. Al fin y al cabo, ¿no es eso lo que importa? Soul Knight es una propuesta con mucho de esto y aquello, afinada para los gamers a los que les gusta experimentar desafíos, disparos y luchar contra jefes despiadados. Tenemos para elegir entre un cúmulo de personajes, subir nuestros skills, ganar y perder… ganar y perder… lol.

No obstante, Soul Knight es de esos juegos con un sistema de mapas o aventuras aleatorias, esto quiere decir que cada vez que el game over aparezca en pantalla, iniciarás nuevamente pero con una partida totalmente distinta a la anterior.

Smartphone games, compared to console or PC games, don't seem like much. However, there are titles that, although they seem simple, can give us a better experience, that is: entertain us. After all, isn't that what matters? Soul Knight is a proposal with a lot of this and that, fine-tuned for gamers who like to experience challenges, shooting and fighting ruthless bosses. We have to choose between a host of characters, raise our skills, win and lose... win and lose... lol.

However, Soul Knight is one of those games with a random map or adventure system, this means that every time the game over appears on the screen, you will start again but with a completely different game from the previous one.

El sistema de juego es realmente cómodo y sencillo. Con los controles fijados en la pantalla, tenemos la posibilidad de intercambiar armas, usar habilidades especiales o desplazarnos por las mazmorras. Es como si jugáramos un Shooter en formato rpg, con escenarios que se intercambian entre lo medieval y lo moderno. ¿Y adivinen? Tenemos un gatico que nos ayuda a vencer a los enemigos.

¡Los gaticos están de moda!

En este gameplay les cuento un poco sobre el juego y sus mecánicas, basado en mis primeras impresiones desde luego. Resumiendo un poco, lo primero que debemos hacer es pasar el tutorial, en el cual aprendemos a manejar a nuestro personaje y conocer toda la esencia de Soul Knight. Básicamente, debemos matar monstruos y avanzar en portales. Los jefes suelen ser difíciles, y la barra de salud y energía, de la cual dependemos para ganar las partidas, se agotan fácilmente.

The game system is really comfortable and simple. With the controls fixed on the screen, we have the possibility to exchange weapons, use special abilities or move through the dungeons. It is as if we were playing a Shooter in rpg format, with scenarios that are exchanged between the medieval and the modern. And guess what? We have a kitten that helps us to defeat the enemies.

In this gameplay I tell you a little about the game and its mechanics, based on my first impressions of course. Summarizing a bit, the first thing we have to do is go through the tutorial, in which we learn to handle our character and get to know the whole essence of Soul Knight. Basically, we have to kill monsters and go through portals. Bosses tend to be difficult, and the health and energy bar, which we depend on to win matches, are easily depleted.

Con Soul Knight podemos hallar mucha de esa emoción que tanto nos hace falta cuando andamos buscando un juego con el cual venzamos las horas de aburrimiento. Podría decir que hasta me resulta tierna la forma en la que sus desarrolladores plantearon la cuestión del héroe y las mazmorras, con mucho del toque clásico para avivar la chispa. No les mentiré, se me hizo realmente difícil en algunos niveles. Los enemigos aparecen en hordas, por lo que intercambiar de armas puede ser una solución viable para evitar la derrota.

Lo gracioso es que aquí también podemos ser mancos, así que no se preocupen en caso de que pierdan a cada rato, como yo, XD. Aunque ya después le agarré el hilo al asunto, lol.

With Soul Knight we can find a lot of that emotion that we need so much when we are looking for a game with which we overcome the hours of boredom. I could even say that I find the way its developers approached the hero and dungeons thing endearingly, with a lot of the classic touch to stoke the spark. I won't lie to you, it was really difficult for me on some levels. Enemies spawn in hordes, so swapping weapons can be a viable solution to avoid defeat.

The funny thing is that here we can also be one-armed, so don't worry in case you lose every time, like me, XD. Although later I grabbed the thread to the matter, lol.
