LA VOZ CANTANTE WEEK #30/ NUMB BY LINKIN PARK ENG/ESP

Holler Pukumundo community, welcome to La Voz Cantante week #30 and I'm super excited as always to share my entry. I trust we're all doing good. Without further ado, For this week I'd be covering a classic by American rock band "Linkin Park" called "Numb" in line with our regular theme rock and metal music.

This is a song about children who are sick of living up to the high expectations their parents set for them. The lyric "Every step that I take is another mistake to you" is about how they feel like they can't do anything to make their parents proud.

"Can't you see that you're smothering me holding too tightly afraid to lose control cause everything that you thought I would be has fallen apart right in front of you" refers to a kid needing a release from his parents' disappointment that he isn't a perfect child.

"All I want to do is be more like me and be less like you" says that the kid wants to be his own person and not have his parents mold him anymore.

"But I know I may end up failing too but I know you were just like me with someone disappointed in you" expresses the thoughts that parents need to realize what it was like to be a kid.

This song was released in the year 2003 and ever since it has had major successes unarguably the band's biggest song till date, even winning a Grammy award with Jay Z on the remix. I do hope you enjoy my cover of this timeless record. Love and light 🤍✨

Saludos comunidad de Pukumundo, bienvenidos a la semana #30 de La Voz Cantante y estoy súper emocionada como siempre de compartir mi entrada. Confío en que todos estemos bien. Sin más preámbulos, para esta semana estaría haciendo un cover de un clásico de la banda de rock estadounidense "Linkin Park" llamado "Numb" en línea con nuestro tema habitual de música rock y metal.

Esta es una canción sobre niños que están hartos de estar a la altura de las altas expectativas que sus padres tienen para ellos. La letra "Cada paso que doy es otro error para ti" trata sobre cómo sienten que no pueden hacer nada para enorgullecer a sus padres.

"¿No ves que me estás asfixiando, sosteniéndome con demasiada fuerza, temeroso de perder el control porque todo lo que pensaste que sería se ha derrumbado justo en frente de ti?" se refiere a un niño que necesita liberarse de la decepción de sus padres porque él no es un niño perfecto.

"Todo lo que quiero hacer es ser más como yo y ser menos como tú", dice que el niño quiere ser él mismo y que sus padres no lo moldeen más.

"Pero sé que puedo terminar fallando también, pero sé que eras como yo con alguien decepcionado de ti", expresa los pensamientos que los padres necesitan para darse cuenta de cómo era ser un niño.
