It's my birthday (28-05) and most importantly, I'm grateful for life. A lot is going on in Nigeria on a daily basis and if one is to actually consider all this, paranoia could keep you indoors for the rest of your life. I'm 20 now and I can't but wonder how many people my age and younger have lost their lives to shortcomings of the governance of this country. Just 2020, we had the #EndSars massacre in Lekki, Lagos. So many stories may never come to light, many stars cut short before they got a chance to shine. Dr. Chinelo and the other people killed in the train incident will forever live in our hearts. When we finally rise above all this, may we be here to tell the story. Rest on heroes ❤️
@ebingo wrote this beautiful song, accurately predicting the situation. Sometimes you just sit and ponder things going on around and the end of it all is a prayer to God that you get the chance to leave the country as soon as possible. Yet, we remain strong ❤️🤍.
I can't keep holding on
To this small town
I've got to keep moving on
Before it all falls down
Now...
Thanks to @donirosayandi and @rosana6 for the instrumental tracks. And thanks to #openmic for this Global Harmony initiative. As a Nigerian myself, it feels good to be seen and acknowledged. To know we're not alone. Thank you!
Thanks for watching ❤️.
