Greetings, community of music lovers, creators and performers. I wish that this year 2024 will be a meeting with achievements, joy and serenity for each of us. May our life be harmonious and we live each day in gratitude and without stress.

We are now in week 64 of this magnificent Festival that keeps us active and inspired by what we love: music. This week, specifically on January 6, we celebrate the Epiphany of the Lord or Three Kings Day.

"Epiphany" is a word that means "manifestation" and among the many manifestations that our Lord Jesus Christ had to various people during His earthly life, there are three very specific ones: His manifestation to the wise men, His manifestation to Saint John the Baptist in the Jordan River on the of His baptism and His manifestation to His disciples when He performs h
His first miracle (turning water into wine) and begins His public life at the wedding at Cana in Galilee.

The Bible mentions "wise men" who came from the East without specifying their number or their names, however, it is tradition to speak of three Kings Wise Men, called Melchior, Gaspar and Baltasar. With this name they are reflected in the Christmas carol that I bring for you this week when Christmas is leaving us.

The song is called "Alegría, alegría" ("Joy, Joy") and it is very beautiful because it is sung by a man who wants to go to Bethlehem to meet the newborn Messiah, asks Melchior to please take him on his camel and explains that he does not have gold to offer the Child but in a Christmas carol, with love and faith, he will give It the treasure that is his soul.

It is not a very well-known Christmas carol, perhaps you are hearing it now for the first time. I hope you like it and integrate it into the Christmas music that you usually sing as a family.

Saludos, comunidad de amantes, creadores e intérpretes de la música. Deseo que este año 2024 sea un encuentro con los logros, la alegría y la serenidad para cada uno de nosotros. Que nuestra vida sea armoniosa y vivamos cada día en gratitud y sin stress.

Estamos ya en la semana 64 de este magnífico Festival que nos mantiene activos e inspirados en lo que amamos: la música. En esta semana, específicamente el 6 de enero, celebramos la Epifanía del Señor o Día de Reyes.

"Epifanía" es una palabra que significa "manifestación" y entre tantas manifestaciones que tuvo nuestro Señor Jesucristo a diversas personas durante su vida terrenal hay tres muy puntuales: Su manifestación a los magos, su manifestación a San Juan Bautista en el río Jordán el día de su bautismo y su manifestación a sus discípulos cuando realiza su primer milagro (convertir el agua en vino) y da comienzo a su vida pública en las bodas de Caná de Galilea.

La Biblia nos menciona a "unos magos" venidos de oriente sin especificar su cantidad ni sus nombres, sin embargo, es tradición hablar de tres Reyes Magos, llamados Melchor, Gaspar y Baltasar. Con este nombre se reflejan en el villancico que traigo para ustedes en esta semana en que se nos va la Navidad. El canto se llama "Alegría, alegría" y es muy bonito porquees cantado desde un personaje que desea ir a Belén a conocer al Mesías recién nacido, le pide a Melchor que por favor le lleve en su camello y aclara no tener oro que ofrecerle al Niño pero en un villancico, con amor y fe, le entregará el tesoro que es su alma.
No es un villancico muy conocido, quizá lo escuchen ahora por primera vez. Espero sea de su agrado y lo integren a la música navideña que acostumbren cantar en familia.
