    ¿Ya hablamos sobre el acrobalance?
¡Ahora hablemos sobre las telas aéreas!

Have we already talked about acrobalance?
Now let's talk about aerial fabrics!

    What are aerial webbing?
Let's start by talking about what aerial aerial aerials are and then talk about their benefits, their implications and how I've felt since I've been training in the air.

Aerial aerial aerial also known as acrobatic fabrics, acrobatics on fabrics, aerial gymnastics, aerial dance, aerial yoga or aerial theater, is a circus discipline, specifically of the aerial group. This discipline consists of working suspended in the air with your own body weight.

For a long time this has been considered something only for the circus, however, in recent days it has been adopted as an excellent activity to tone muscles, generate physical endurance and keep fit and healthy, which more and more people of any stereotype are joining.

Surely you will think that even though I say this, that all people or mostly, have had or have some physical condition to be able to dare to climb on the canvases, but believe me when I tell you that you must have nothing more than enthusiasm and will.

In some of my posts I talked about how I was never a physical activity girl, particularly sports put me in a bad mood when it came to physical education, maybe because one of the complexes I had were the physical stereotypes, and for always being the thinnest in the room I was told things like that I would not last more than a minute in any tournament or game added to that I have never really been interested in sports like baseball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, kickingball, etc, they were and still are sports that I do not like at all, so it did not bother me that I was not chosen in the teams haha (maybe I was a little lazy and I do not want to admit it hehe); although I can witness them to share with someone, like for example, the soccer games of my oldest nephew, who is a goalkeeper and is one of the best in his team (by the way you can follow him on Instagram and support his career as @juan.sanabria.segovia)

| What are aerial silks and what is the name of the silk?

Basically it consists of climbing using both hands and legs, hanging, suspending yourself in the air and tying yourself with both canvases creating figures, escapes (see my videos on 3speak where I teach two falls on the aerial canvases, soon I will share other falls) or simply routines of sequences of movements and transitions from one figure to another, besides feeling free and adrenaline for the feeling that you are flying in the air, release stress and generate self-confidence.

While performing the activity, the work of legs, abdomen and arms is involved at all times and the muscular system is intensely awakened, which is why more than an artistic discipline of the circus has become a fun and unusual way to stay in shape.

It usually has a length of between 16 meters and 25 meters, according to the area where it is practiced, in my country the fabric is called muslin, in some countries they call it silk, however, I do not know if it will be the silk we all know as you know .... silk! Anyway... or if it will be known as "musselina" in other parts of the world, the diversity of names that it acquires is due to the approach that is given according to what you want to propose, the fabric helps from performing yoga exercises, to do gymnastics acrobatics, theatrical or dance numbers, to be used as TRX ropes to exercise (similar exercises).

¿¡Y si se rompe la tela o me caigo?! | What if the fabric breaks or I fall?!

This is the most common question asked by passersby when you train in a public place, it is understandable that it generates insecurity to imagine that your physical integrity depends on a "cloth" "curtain" "tape" as people who do not know it at all call it, but I guarantee you that it will not break, and as long as you do not do this alone and follow to the letter the instructions of your coaches, no accident that can be regretted will occur.

I will focus on a few lines regarding the "what if I break the fabric? "because this comment usually comes from the mouths of chubby or big people, the people themselves say it jokingly to themselves, and in some cases the comments are so eloquent that I also laugh, but I have always analyzed from one of the demons that most afflicts many of us and sometimes do not want to accept, which is insecurity, that this comment of "surely I tear the fabric, with this weight, imagine you" is born of a cruel conception that has sold the marketing about the "sizes" and "ideal bodies".

Do you remember any cartoon or comic movie where the funny feature of the "chubby" was that when they entered a pool or beach all the water came out and they were empty? or that they sat on a chair and broke the chair? or tore their clothes? Giving a message of clumsiness and uselessness exaggerated from my point of view, it is because of this plus the stereotypes of perfect sizes that there are eating disorders and mental health problems.

Although I had insecurities about my physique, because in Latin America the prototype that has been instilled both abroad and to ourselves, is that Latinas are voluptuous women, Europeans are thinner etc., I remember comments like "your body would be perfect if you lived in Spain" to questions of whether I suffered from an eating disorder, However, knowing that all my family is like that, I concluded that it was something natural and genetic, so as I know how unpleasant these comments are, I try to encourage people to motivate themselves to do any activity without any complex, so I tell them that the fact that I am thin and practice this is just a coincidence.

I share with you the following video, a guy who was passing by where I was training with my partner and a friend, he said that surely if he climbed on the fabric he would break the tree or the fabric, doesn't it seem cruel that someone appreciates himself in that way? Conversing with the boy he said these words that moved me to such an extent, "my dad just passed away, and here I feel closer to heaven...I am closer to him I LOVE YOU DADDY!"

    50 % Beneficios físicos - 50% Beneficios emocionales | 50% Physical benefits - 50% Emotional benefits

    IMG_20210702_202123.jpg

I will start from my body evolution. I am a girl between 46-48 kg, I have always considered that although I am thin, it does not seem an unhealthy thinness (besides being something of genetics) and I have noticed that I have a certain facility to form muscles, although I was not physically active in my childhood, from the age of 15 I began to show interest in something that would help me gain confidence with my body.

    IMG_20210606_150002_437.jpg

At the beginning I was interested in pole dance but my mom prejudged it by then and did not support me, I was in salsa casino and bachata classes at 17 and I remained with the interest in dancing, but I did not feel that I formed that confidence in myself that I wanted to find, then any exercise I did did did not go beyond any youtube exercise routine, until one day walking in a public park in my city (Los Caobos park for those who read me who are from Venezuela) and I saw a girl doing something that first time in my life that I saw (read my first post where I talk about how I got to the aerial fabrics, or rather, how they came into my life).

    Physical Benefits:

    • My gross motor skills have been fully activated by the fact that both hands and legs are involved when climbing on the fabric.
    • My hand grip strength, leg strength, abdominal strength have been strengthened.
    • My cardiovascular system has improved.

    • I have learned to control and dose my breathing.

    • My physical endurance in daily activities such as walking long distances, lifting weights at home, climbing mountains, etc. has increased.

    • I coordinate my movements better.

    • In addition to refining my sense of sight, I have learned to work with my sense of hearing and touch.

    • I have seen my body change and others have noticed it as well, such as the formation of my musculature, my arms, back, legs, abdomen, gluteus have been defined.

    • Progress in flexibility (see my post about my progress in it).
    • My endurance in sequences or transitions

    IMG_20210702_202227.jpg

    Emotional benefits:

    • Increase in my confidence.

    Increased self-esteem.

    • Connection between mind and body.

    • Tuning of the senses of sight and hearing.

    • I have learned to concentrate more in pressure situations, it is very common to get tangled in the fabrics when learning a new figure or escape is why you must sharpen the concentration on the indications of the trainer.

    • Body awareness and reasoning are activated when escaping from a figure.

    • Natural human senses such as danger awareness and panic control are awakened.

    • You learn to know your body, in terms of the names of the muscular and skeletal system.

    • It serves as individual therapy or to rescue the interpersonal relationship person (family, friend, romantic partner).

    • Stress reduction, liberation of insecurities and feeling of joy, freedom and empowerment.
